LOL well, i got off a 2nd gen talon, Turbo manifold, garrett t-25 i beilve turbo. Intercooler, for $150 condition seems to be 7/10 for all of it. Turbo shat has no play, and minor fin wear like very minor, spins somewhat smooth, no metal contact noise.

Did i do good, as u may not know im doing a NT 1st gen 7 bolt to turbo... and figure this is good start.
 
Your going to have a little bit of modifying of the I/C piping to use on a 1g. The turbo and manifold will bolt onto the car. The water and oil lines are different. 2g's feed oil from the oil filter housing, and 1g's from the head. Also, the water line is in the block on a 2g, and from the water pipe in a 1g. I've done many of these conversions and talk to people on a lot of Mitsu forms about the swap. Let me know if you have questions, I've been there before...
 
well most of the pipe got ruined :( like some of the lines.....### someone got to the car before me and pulled the head...... anything else i can get off that car that would benefit me, my car is a 7 bolt so i was thinking of taking the oil filter housing off if i could. idr if the block has to be dissaembled or not. dont think so... idk but i am going back....

Now one thing that confuses me, u guys keep saying 1 gen turbo does this and 2nd gen does that..... so does 1990-1992 6 bolts and 1992-1994 7 bolts use the same way to lubricate the turbo, and 1995-1999 has a totally diff way or do u not know..

its just cus some people call 1st gen like only 6 bolt and 2nd gen 7 bolt
 
1st gen cars are 90 (technically 89) to 94. 2nd gen cars are 95 to 99.

Your going to have a WAY, WAY easier time just selling that T25, and buying a good used 14b. Trust me.

I thought there was I/C piping on your parts list, sorry I missed that.

I would just keep the oil filter housing you have now, and feed a 14b from the head. You can use the T25, don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to keep you from throwing tools and using adult language when it comes time to install the turbo stuff. The Garrett T25 is feed from the oil filter housings on the 2g's only (95 to 99 turbo cars). The 14b is stock on all 1g turbo cars (90 to 94) 6 or 7 bolt doesn't matter. (Of course the 14b is only on the 5 speed cars, auto's got the 13g, but are still fed from the head).

I've installed T25's on 1g cars, I'm not saying it's the end of the world. But it's simply not worth the hassle when a 14b is so cheap, and bolts right on. Also, you'll need a turbo oil pan for the oil drain line, water pipe and thermostat housing from a turbo car, and the oil feed lines and such, but I'm sure you already know that. It's really not hard. I'm just telling you the easiest way to do it, not the ONLY way.
 
i have some of the intercooler piping if not all of it, wasnt much ill look more tomorrow.

Now why would i have a hard time running oil and coolant, my plan was to use the 2nd gen 7 bolt OF housing and run lines just like on a 2nd gen, and coolant i could tap my heater core hoses or something???? i mean i dont think it will be that bad. I may do the oil from the head idea ### it does seem like a good idea, but the OF housing just uses what appears to be brake line to feed the turbo which is nice and cheap for me. IDK IDK IDK..... id also like to point out the engine is out of the and on a stand to make doing this easier b4 i install,

as for the intercooler pipes, im going to go little custom LOL and the pipes even seem like big radiator hoses anyways..... so im sure install will be flexible.
 
At first I was like, ummmm... Then you said that it was a starting point for your NT. Make sure you do a pressure test on the SMIC to be sure that there aren't any leaks. Keep us posted so we know how it goes.
 
i will, i just wanna get you know majority of parts i need and then figure what i can do later down the road when the engines actually in the car. i was hopeing to get at least the injectors but..... they were in the mud :( freakn ......... anyways they were autos and id rather have the bigger MT injectors anywho. tomorrow im going to pull the oil pan, OF housing, and anything else related to the turbo i can get but yeh the head is gone so idk what ill find... but man today was alright i didnt have any tools or anything, i had to borrow from people and it sucked but idk.... im happy with myself.... I just like garrett T15-t25's ### im more familar with them then a 13 or 14b or wutever.... im sure ill learn from this but i want low rpm boost and ill be running only 5-8 psi so im sure the t25 will do for now.... this is a budget build...
 
wow i like how someone edited this, and took off me asking him how much we wanted for his 450 injectors..... and will a 2g knock sensor work with a 1g harness? idk what to do
