ok i have a 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse 1.8. i was driving it on monday and it was all good. i accidently stalled the car(not pushing clutch) and it died. well i started it back up and im goin good up till bout 20 mph. as soon as it hits that or a lil b4 or above the car starts stuttering and jumping and in order for it not to die i have to push the clutch in. Im not sure what the problem could be. the car still shifts and reverses and starts up(if that helps at all) i jus can hardly get past 20 mph or so.
And 2nd i was starting it up and let it sit for a lil bit..after i revved it to like 3rpms like 4 times the coolant bubbled up and went all over the place(it heated the coolant up), what would that be? someone told me i should replace my thermostat?WTF

I need help im not sure what top do

replace your thermostat and see what happens, or, get rid of your car and at least get a Talon with a 4G63

Thanks a lot, you've REALLY helped this guy out by telling him to get a 4G63. What if the same thing happened in a 4G63? What would you tell him then?

Original poster...I suspect you may have a couple of problems here. The first would be why is your car underpowered so much that you can't get above 20. Check plugs, make sure it is getting fuel, check timing. The car may have stalled on its own and you just thought you misshifted.
Check coolant system to find out why it's over heating. Check all hoses for leaks, check the rubber on the rad cap to see if the cap needs to be replaced.
I'm not familiar with the 1.8, but the basics apply to any motor. Another possibility may be a blown headgasket, a compression check should answer that for you.
