haha. Come to the shop in CT, it'd be a freebie on any DSM. Very easy with the air wheel.

Got myself a ''new turbo''

It is a FP Green. It looks ok, not great, but ok. Nothing is really wrong with it other than I have to cut out the flapper hole since Ill be running it off the o2 (the wastegate I mean).

The compressor wheel has some knicks but nothing to cry about. It has normal play. I may be using this for my set up first. If I get bored, I'll switch to the Holset.

Wow been a while since I updated the GSX. LOL

Acually Ive been doing minor things here and there since my last post.

Here's what I did today. I ended up buying the Simborski shifter kit a whiiiiile ago and since it was raining and I was bored I installed it today. I also installed the knock off B&M that I had since the knock off B&M that the GSX came with had sh!t the bed. :D

Almost full assembly:

This kit comes with a new sleeve and as you can see it has a tighter diameter for less slack:

Nice progress jjrock loving the updates. Where did you order the wideband bung and plug ?

Thanks man! I ordered it through SBR (Joe) I ordered that whole package. :D

I also ordered a P.R. Recirc MVS 38 mm o2 housing and I still havent seen it and I ordered it over a month ago! Not to bash anybody but if I had done it through ExtremePSI I would've had it a looong time ago. Thats what I get for trying to save a few bucks...

Whats up with your car man? I have seen that thread change in a while.

Cool man. I thought i was selling my car back then so i deleted it but i will be making a new one in a blog type. Only i will list the things i have done and go from there and a shorter resume of the conditions i got the car in.
Keep up the good work jjrock.

Sweet, cant wait to see it.

I forgot to add one small addition to my stack of parts. :D

I bought this FP mani straight from FP BEFORE they jacked up the price to $275. :hellyeah:

Before I even install it I thought of the heat disoersion issue. My first thought was to get the JMF heat shield but I heard the fitment was pretty bad. Then I thought of ceramic coating. :sneaky:

While it was still freshy I brought it to a local shop and had them coat it.

Thanks. I really want to go with FP2s but didnt have the money at the time.

Now Im just waiting to find some nice used ones in the classifieds. LOL

Getting the belt off and on is really no problem at this point. Ive done too many...sadly.

So I decided to have one of these made for me since I'll be running a Tial but dont want to hack up my Punishment Racing intercooler pipe. :D

It's a bov adapter that goes from a 1G flange to a Tial mounting flange.

I know somebody will say that a Tial has a 50mm hole and the 1g is a ~34mm so it wont be releasing as much pressure but I still wanted this custom piece so I'll compromise for now and see how it works out. :hellyeah:

How are you "hacking up" the intercooler piping? all you have to do is cut off the old flange, drill for a bigger diameter, and weld up a new flange :idontknow:...

Most shops charge an average of $50 to weld and $10 for flange

IMO
Its pointless to upgrade to a Tial since you wont be taking advantage of the 50mm

Meh, I already have the Tial in my garage as well as all the mods to run it vented.

Not many shops in my area that I trust to even run a bead of weld and I dont have one of my own sadly.

We'll see how it does. :)

I have to agree with DSM PWR, it would be ideal if you had the flange welded to it. I'm not a huge fan of adapters. Send your pipes back to Punishment and have them weld it on. I'm positive they would do it.

Check out my rebuttle.

A 1g BOV is good for ~25-30 psi. Tial is good for pretty much whatever you can throw at it.

I plan on running at most ~25 psi. The larger dia. (50 mm) would probably help if i were running 30+ (but I won't be).

Therefore, the decrease in diameter because of the adapter will still be enough to not "hurt" anything as a 1g bov in itself hasn't hurt anything while at those boost pressures.

Plus, I won't lose anything because I already have everything I need to run the Tial. :D

I know the adapter flange will work, and the Tial will work with the smaller hole, but I'm saying (and I'm sure DSM PWR will agree), it really isn't the ideal way. The adapter just adds one more place with there can be a leak.

I agree with you, but personally as long as both flanges are true and a gasket is used I have never experienced a boost leak.

For example, now Im running a HKS SSQV bov and mounted it on a 1g flange via adapter. I made sure to use the above precautions and I have boost leak tested it to 30 psi with no problems.

Thanks for the opinions though, better safe then sorry. We'll see how it holds up.

While i do praise you for getting a Tial adapter made, and doing something different

You said it yourself, a 1g BOV will more than handle your goals

I hope this isnt a matter of just wanting to say you "run a TiAL" :idontknow:

Im sure this will work fine, but im just one of those people that likes to take my time and do things correctly and not half-ass

my 2cents

Well the Tial was given to me long ago so Im trying to do what I can to actually USE the thing.

Stacking up the 1g with the Tial: Tial>1g bov

And fu*k yea, I want to say that my DSM runs the best of everything. Otherwise, ppl wouldn't upgrade anything on their car at all. We'd all still be running on T25's and plastic BOVs.

i agree with dsm_pwr... yes it is nice to be using newer parts that are more efficient, but the adapter plate isn't allowing the tial to be as efficient, and it is another opportunity for a boost leak to occur..

+1 for being inventive but i would just stick to the 1g bov for now

Now didn't I just state some reasoning for any boost leaks? There won't be any and if there are, they will be gotten rid of. The innovators always have naysayers but if they listened to them the world wouldn't have the technology they have today.

But like always, I respect everybody's input. :D

LOL! Consider me the Tial guinea pig because Im not budging. Haha

I completely agree on the money part. But I'll take a chance this once. :)

So I finally got one of the parts that I had been waiting wayyyyy too long for. :D

This may possibly be the most expensive part Ive bought for my car. LOL

I think I bought my 1g 1.8 for this much. hahahahaha

Well here it is! :D

I chose this because I DO NOT want the sound of an open dump yet still want the performance of an external wastegate.

It may look pretty now but it'll look even better ine few weeks. :thumb:

I'll keep you guys posted. :shhh:
