Jest got my talon tsi(need help)

OK so i been a Honda head my who life so i have switched sides.this is my first turbo car.its a talon tsi awd turbo.its stock besides hks bov,and exhaust .i have a couple question i hope can be answered.

1.i have a boost controller but i dont kno how to work it.i have it all the way down now so what psi is it at?and if i raise it how will i kno were it is at?i have a boost gauge..

2.how much can this motor handle?im putting a evo 3 turbo in it ..after i figure out the boost gauge how high can i put the psi up?or should i jest keep it stock and be safe?i don't want to blow the motor ?

3.and last question.my car revs to the 2 at times?why is that?if i put the ac on it goes down??what could it be?

if u know an answer to one of these i would appreciate it..i need help guys

Is your boost controller a manual boost controller or electronic boost controller? Stock boost you should be able to push 14lbs safe. And welcome to the DSM world.

You need to do some reasearch first before you do anything else, if you are asking these questions you shouldn't be boosting a car, start slow, learn and then apply what you learn, all the information you could ever want is on this site, use the search button.

ya he should learn to search b/c questions like this have been answered in thousands of threads, but i don't think he should give up on having a boosted car, u have to start somewhere and learn.

If it is anything like my Miata. When you put it in gear it idles up to compensate. Kinda like the GM IAC throttle follower. (Google it). Other idle related issues can be caused by the Cam Angle Sensor (CAS), Throttle Positioning Sensor (TPS) and even the Knock Sensor (KS).

I would recommend playing with the TPS to see if it is loose and check the connector going to it. That is what I would do :)

Also for setting up a manual boost controller you can head over to your nearest hardware store and pick up about 5-6 feet of vacuum line. Make sure it fits before you buy it. Now take the line and cut it in half. Connecting both pieces to your boost controller, connect the other ends to their corresponding barbs. One on the turbo housing and the other on the waste gate. With a friend in the car. (Boost at the lowest setting.) Find a nice sized parking lot or even a road where you can drive the car to full boost. (Safely.) Have your friend slowly turn up the boost pressure to your desired and safe range. When you are finished, measure out the length on line you need from one half of that 5-6 foot length of line. Place your controller wherever you want and use the rest of the line to replace any damaged or dry rotted line you have on your car. There may be a little bit of adjustment required after you have set the boost. This is because the length of line used via this method.

1.) Drive it and look at the gauge, I suggest that you start out dialing it to low and see what comes up, then make adjustments.

2.) I'm guessing your car is in top shape or you wouldn't do this at all, do some test on the engine, like leakdown, intake pressure, compression, boost leak, etc. I'm sorry if I'm going to sound like a prick but you are asking to get your engine blown if you go down this path.

3.) My guess is that you're talking about the line on the tachometer and it's on the 2nd line while idling, right? Normally, yes the idle goes down for most cars when you turn the A/C on but I don't recall having to see it go down as low as the 2nd line.

I don't look down on Honda tuners, but the reason why most people do is because whatever works for Honda people is not always as easy if you jump to force-fed and a Mitsubishi at that. Welcome to the world of DSM, and please do not get discourage with this platform, the rewards are great if you have patience.
