I got a 92 eagle talon tsi awd and just wanted know if the cel light will come on if the car was misfiring or the fuel pressure regulator was going bad?

I got the walbro 190 pump but i wanted to throw in the 255 instead with the stock regulator would that be ok cause im looking to run more then 20lbs i have 680 injectors to,aem wideband,etc...

also have some moisture comming out my muffler on cold starts sometimes when its cold but im worried that moisture gonna effect my wideband reading if it goes on the sensor?

when the car is in drive what rpms should my idle be at for automatic and when in park?

if your going to run a wally 255 i would run an adjustable regulator i tried the 255 on my stock regulator and had no luck

-If it is misfiring really bad you may get a cel, but not always. And as far as the cel coming on because of a bad fpr, again kind of the same deal. Not really, but could lead to that if it was really bad.

-For anyone to say for sure if this is ok for YOUR car is impractical. To be sure you don't have any issues you need to replace it. If you want to try though, you are welcome to do what you want/have to for the moment. I have known some people to run the stocker without any problems.

"also have some moisture comming out my muffler on cold starts sometimes when its cold but im worried that moisture gonna effect my wideband reading if it goes on the sensor?"

-LOL No need to worry. That moisture is in there every time a motor starts up from cold and begins to warm up. Most sensors are mounted at an angle where they are hanging inside the pipe so they don't collect as much moisture as if they were to be mounted at the bottom of a given pipe. It won't affect your wideband readings either so don't worry about that. By the time you are doing any pulls, where you are logging wideband readings the sensor will be cleaned up.;)

"when the car is in drive what rpms should my idle be at for automatic and when in park?"

-Not sure on that one as I've never owned an auto.:hmm: I'm guessing about 500-600 though. Maybe someone else can verify that.
Good luck:thumb:

but how can i make sure my car has no misfire from the plugs, wires, and injectors?

as for my sensor its on the left side of my dp right in the middle so should that be ok or i shouldve put it up more?

well then how can i make sure my car has no misfire from the plugs, wires, and injectors? is there a way to test everything?

What exactly is your problem? Is the car misfiring? Do you have a cel on?
The plugs, you can look at or replace if you have any doubts. The wires, you can check the resistance, but I have seen them pass a resistance test and still have problems in different conditions(temp, moisture, etc.) So again with that replace them if you are in doubt. The injectors are your least likely culprit I would say, but they can be cleaned and flow checked.
You should be fine with your o2 placement by the way.:)

can i check the resistance of my injectors with a multimeter? pte 680cc should read 2ohms if im correct? should the car be turned off when checking resistance or on?

sorry for the confusion but i dont have a cel light on i just got this car last month and wanna make sure everything is fine thats why.

If you have a datalogger(mmcd), you can shut the injectors down one at a time to make sure they are working. If your car starts and idles, cruises fine, then most likely your injectors are good as well. But yes, if you want to check the resistance, a multimeter is what you would use. But that really won't tell you if they are clogged or anything

It's possible you're just experiencing spark blowout.

What spark plugs and gap are you running? I'd recommend NGK BPR7es gapped at .026". Basically, you want the highest gap until there is no spark blowout. I've been able to squeeze another degree or two of timing with running the non-projected BR7es

A rewired 190lph pump will be plenty to run at least 25psi on a 16g

The obd1 1gs setup is not as sensitive as the 2gs obd2. I've never had a misfire pop a cel on a 1g whereas any little thing will get a cel on a 2g. Definitely make sure the light illuminates by turning the key to the "on" position though

im using bpr7es gapped at .028" so i should gap them down more u think?....

just ever since i rewired my fuel pump and changed my plugs to ngk bpr7es i lost a lil rpms. usually when i cold started my car or when its in park it would idle at like 1300-1350 rpms now its like 1200...the plugs in there before were ngk bpr6es iridium ix and 2 of them had oil and were so black so i replaced my gaskets and threw in the new plugs that shouldve been in there in the first place...it does fires up right away im thinkin now that i got the correct plugs in and rewired the pump the car is running how it really should cause 1300-1350 rpms in park is too damn high anyways...the chip i have in the car is set at 850rpms.

If that is what your car idles at when its cold I wouldn't worry about it, what does it idle at when its warmed up? That is when it should be idling at the 850 your chip says.

it idles at 1150-1250 on a cold start but before when the fuel pump was not wired and with old plugs it idled at 1300-1350 rpms...now when when i put it in drive and its warmed up it idles at 850 but thats what the chip is set at.

my vacuum gauge read 20 in park and 18 in drive
