I have a 92 turbo Eagle Talon TSi AWD. Recently i have gotten the head gasket done and i have been driving it around and it has been really weird. First it has smoke coming from the muffler and has a bad gas smell. When i step on the gas it speeds up very slow and boosts up real high and right before it speeds up it releases black smoke. whats wrong?

my mechanic. how do i check the base timing? & the smoke is black. it is released after the car boosts up

they are on vacation and i wanna fix this soon. but i have a oil leak and have a leak in my exhaust seals can that be the problem?

that could be part of the white smoke problem...

oil burns white, but it depends where the leak is to make it actually burn.
if it just drips then it shouldnt burn, but if your turbo is gone etc it could burn alottt.

where is the exhaust leak? Before the turbo or after the 02 sensors? I don't see what the seals would have to do with anything. Especially since I don't know what seals you are talking about.

Please re read my post and answer all the questions, so we can help you better. Do you have any fuel mods. Also please tell us any other relevant information, because we don't really know much at this point about the problem except black smoke. Be more specific please.

check to make sure your 02 sensor is plugged in, and if it is an it's old, think about replacing it. If you have a exhaust leak before your 02 sensor the ecu could possibly be adding more fuel because the 02 sensor is not seeing some of the exhaust. Keep in mind the leak would have to be large. If it's a small crack, than it's more than likely not the problem.

okay i will check that tomorrow morning. but yea another is that my air fuel gauge reads rich most of the time. the seals where it leaks are on the exhaust basically at the middle of the car underneath. it has seals on both sides i dont know what its called.
