Ok i these are my mods and below are the problems ive been having with my 97 gsx automatic. i bought the car this way i didnt add anything to it:
Forced Performance Green 7cm with external dump
Dejon intake
Tial waste gate
Ported manifold
Greddy oil catch can
Greddy type S BOV
Greddy IC pipes
Greddy IC
Greddy profec b boost controller
Greddy 60mm silver face boost & EGT
HKS turbo timer
Jumptronix air/fuel meter
Hahn 3" DP
walbro 255 fp
660 injectors
thermal 3" exhaust
PI - dragon torque converter 3500 stall
black spring shift kit
b&m tranny cooler
Apexi S-afc
no fuel pressure regulator
no wideband o2
trans fluid is darker then brown
oil is 15w-50 mobil 1 and is fresh
these are the issues im having with my car:
Check engine light comes on all the time after i drive the car for a while i scanned it and the code always comes up misfire...also one time when i went to pull codes i got 2 of them one for misfire and one for solenoid assembly malfunction. when i got code p1750 the car was acting really bad when im goin below 7mph it would like stop or slow down on its own then would go just back and fourth it even die out on me but started back up right away.
the idle keeps jumping up and down when the car is warmed up and im in park or stopped....
car sometimes doesnt wanna go when i put it in drive until i throw it back in park and back to drive.....
also when i drive the car for a while and its warmed up and im goin like 5-7mph the car will like lock up which u can feel it doin and slow down on its own and when i go to almost completley stop it will stop on its own then go then stop....
noise comming from underneath the car when car is warmed up when i am parked or stopped. previous owner claims noise is coming from the torque converter....he says the noise is a characteristic of the precision industries "dragon" torque converter. The noise is the lock up converter...
on the apexi s-afc I on the monitor for air flow there is no reading showing or numbers moving but all the other stuff is working....i read on the apexi site about this and they said:
Q: Why is the SAFC monitor displaying an incorrect airflow reading,
A: For Karman type air flow meters, seen on select Mitsubishi and Toyota models, there will be no air flow reading. There will be an incorrect air flow reading for pressure sensor vehicles.
