Langley,
I'm fairly new to the dsm tuning/modding scene, but I just bought a talon tsi awd and I'm looking to get some decent hp out of it. I have chose some mods, and I would like to know from someone more knowledgable if I have made some good choices, or if I should look into some other options.

My budget is about $3500 give or take a few hundred. The mods are as follows:

- Apex'i n1 catback exhaust
- Monza 3" downpipe
- Megan Racing 02 sensor housing
- K&N 3" Cone filter
- BP polished 3" intake pipe
- Turbosmart boost controller(manual)
- ACT DSM 2600 clutch kit
- Fidanza 1g short shifter
- Autometer EGT gauge + probe kits(carbon fiber)
- Autometer Boost gauge(carbon fiber)
- Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump
- FIC 550cc injectors
- Fuel pressure regulator
- UPC exhaust manifold
- NGK spark plugs + wires
- Basic Datalogger
- Apex'i S-AFC fuel controller

These are the mods I have chosen, i still need a high flow cat, and possibly upgrade the turbo though. Anyone tell me what kind of HP I would be looking at??

I'd recommend NOT getting the fidanza shifter, it's junk. Check into shift bushings with your short shifter purchase. I'd also strongly recommend getting a FPR (fuel pressure regulator) setup with that pump. Get the high pressure pump while your doing that mod. Get an Injen intake and switch over to a 2g DSM, or EVO 8 air meter. Get an oil pressure gauge. With a good tune you should be making over 250AWHP if your still on the 14b.

If I were you I would get a ported Evo III O2 housing you can keep the lower heat shield which is a lot easier on your alternator. I would get a good FMIC kit so you can really max out that 14b since you already have the 550cc injectors.

I would recommend the denso 510s or 550s cause they have a much better dead time than the fics. The fics are one of the slower injectors. Go with magnacore wires instead of the ngk cause the masgna core are a perfect fit due to there resistance. I would also do hard piping to the side mount since I see you are not going front mount and staying with the 14b. Port the 14b exhaust side of that turbo and it will spool really nice. Do the fuel pump rewire and upgrade to a micron style fuel filter for better flow.
2g or 3g mass is a great upgrade and stay away from the aftermarket rs bovs. if your not gonna use a 1g bov go with turbo xs for your setup cause the 50mm bov would be to big.

Also you will have to dial down the injectors cause you really dont need that much injector for a 14b even if it is ported along with a bigger mass on this system will also add 20% fuel.

I hope this helps you some.

It looks like a solid list. I would however ditch the SAFC and go with bigger injectors. Check out DSMAP for tuning and I think you might like what you see. I know you are not upgrading turbos right away and you done NEED bigger injectors but, you will. You might aswell buy once. I dont see you ordering a 2100 clutch kit? You went with the 2600 cause it will hold more any your mods will grow into it. The same should be done with your fuel setup. It might cost alittle more if you dont have a eprom ecu but it will be worth it in the long run.
