So I just recieved my JDM engine and tranny today.. I was looking at it, and it has a completely different intake manifold and an extra sensor on the camshaft casing. It does not say Cyclone on it. The linkage is on the opposite side. It is longer than stock 2g. The TB inlet appears to be larger. The runners also appear to be larger bore. What do I do with this thing? Should I attempt to use it or use my old stock 2g? any help would be nice. Thnx..

It is a seven bolt. I bought it from tiger japanese out of canada. I can take pics.. Im seriously contemplating just using my stock 2g mani..

Actually if you have a EVO3 mani i would stick with that. If you do a search on here they are fairly close to having a SMIM.

I just purchased a 6 bolt motor from tiger Japanese last week. I live in Canada so i went to there warehouse and picked out my motor. Could it be possible you recieved a 6 bolt? from your description, the larger TB and the larger runners are a few indications of a 6 bolt.

Exactly what I was thinking.....

Ok here are the pics.. sorry it took so long.. It is def a 7bolt.. any idea what this thing is?

here is the pic.

I also received this engine when I ordered one. I still to this day have no idea what it came out of, it has a 13g with an upright compressor outlet. and the same exact throttle body that I am guessing on your's pulls the opposite way of the factory one. All I had to change was the throttle body to my factory one.

I do not see a sensor on the other side.. This is the same engine I posted question with JDM intake identifiication problem you replied to.. This motor is a little wacky compared to my other one... LOL
Is it possible to just not hook that sensor up, I don't think it is on the harness...

If this is RVR engine, Does that mean it's junk?

Absolutely not. Its a 4g63 turbo with Evo3 parts, why would you say its junk? Keep searching up on it and you will see if the engine is not blown, then its not junk. IMO, i would use and mod it.

And i think the reason for the turbo outlet pointing up, is that some RVR's had a top mounted intercooler.

I only say junk because this seems to be the main culprit for CW in the forums. Also, This TB wont fit my IC pipe, and it seems that some sensors arent on it, AND the vaccum lines are completely different, its hard enough remembering the way it was before! ha..:D
And I def took a pipe from turbo pointing up off. (outlet)

Crank walk is overrated. No need to continue mentioning it.

You won't be able to use that throttle body because of the way the throttle cable bracket mounts. You can see the difference in the pictures below. With My RVR is the dirty one and the other is my rebuilt 1g.
