Jc Whitney rebuild kit

I was planning on ordering a rebuild kit from jc whitney. I just don't know which one there are four. 62-73 powerglide, 65-85 turbo-hydra t400, 69-79 turbo-hydra t350, or 82-86 turbo-hydra 700-r4. Are any of these compatible with f4a33?

The JC Whitney kits Described above won't work, especially since they are for Ford, GM, etc.
The Above Listed will, with the Last one from IPT being the most expensive.

Any Particular reason for the rebuild?

My transmission is shot. So I was rebuilding it for now so I can drive it but I plan later down the road to convert it to a gsx. So far now trying to fix car as cheap as possible until conversion

Dont cheap out on it. Do it right the first time, if not you will spend double fixing the jc whitney parts. We have plenty of vendors on here that can fix it.

If you can't even figure out which kit to buy, you probably shouldn't be rebuilding your own transmission.
None of those kits were even close. The numbers at the beginning (ex. 62-73, 65-85, etc) are the model years of those transmissions. Few years off. And those are all pretty popular domestic transmissions.

Your best bet would be to buy a used, working transmission. Probably cheapest too.

I know when Ive looked on JC Whitney before, the site throws random parts that wouldnt come close to fitting a DSM. Like a vtec controller, or the disc brake simulator.

JC Whitneys search process is kind of a joke. It does pop up random non related parts whenever you add your vehicle. Because I seriously doubt that the pwr glide or turbo 350/400 rebuild kits would even have one part you could use.

No offense, but if you're hoping some random GM RWD transmission rebuild kit will work in your FWD Mitsubishi tranny, I wouldn't recommend you even take the tranny out yourself, much less rebuild it.

The ones 4g63tc listed would be good, but seriously, just HAVE it rebuild by someone who knows what they're doing. You could spend a bunch of time and money and just throw it away if something isn't right when you're done or you end up with 7 extra parts laying there once you get it assembled. To get help then is harder, as people aren't that excited to work on something someone else screwed up on.

Yea, I understand what you are saying but, what's is the point of just taking it somewhere to get it rebuild when I can try myself. The reason I am rebuilding it is merely for fun and to get it running until I swap a 5speed awd. And by the way I am doing it at my school with two of my professor that each has over 25 years in Mitsubishi. The transmission was gutted out already after we put it on a transmission dyno and told us exactly what was wrong. I just want to see the transmission run to actually know I rebuild it on my own.

Then I'd suggest going and getting the IPT rebuilt kit. It will make you the happiest until you get around to your swap.

You'll need the banner kit to get clutches and the master kit to get clutches and steels. The overhaul kit has only the rubber seals and paper gaskets.
