Ripper, cut the hood. There aren't any real downsides and it helps a LOT.

LOL, yea I am having troubles getting my car dialed in and curently the big project is getting under hood temps down without cutting up the bumper cover or using a hood vent. Once I get that lil project completed and the car dialed in on the shitty gas here then I will work on suspension again.

But how are your impressions?

I wasn't persay having cooling problems it was just a bit higher than I wanted it to be after my FMIC install.

So I took some sheetmetal and made an air dam and mounted it on the corp support and voila temps rise a bit at a stand still bus as soon as i move they drop to the 185*-190* and stay there the whole time either in city or highway.

Those are QA1 joints used which last time I looked them up $40 each. 2 is $80. 2 jamb nuts, around $6. I figure $5-10 shipping pending where you buy and how fair they are and you are pretty close to $100. Of course some may rather have lower quality parts and buy cheaper heims. I talked to a machinest and I wouldn't be saving much so I went with Jay Racing. I'd rather spend another $20 to a company who is offering parts that no one else is.

Either way I'm enjoying mine. Whether you have someone make them or pick up a set from Jay Racing. Plus they threw in a nice key chain for my spare key and sticker for my high vinyl horsepower parts cabinet. :p

I guess thats the good thing about living in farmer land. If the heim joints are good enough for farm machines they will be good enough for what I will put them through.

I am aware that this is a easy mod that is very effective. But, I think on our cars it does not exactly look good. So this is one of the VERY few times aesthetic are important to me. I am doing everything from making a air dam to using a lot of DEI products as well as a CAI setup. And possibly going to a better fan setup.

Heat control is very important to me. However I am not yet ready to go for a vented hood so I am going more extreme in other area's.

Anyway back on track once that is done then I will install mine and see what I notice.

I built the trailing arms a few years ago and also the rear upper tubular arms.I have not had any problems with them. This year I built the lower rear tubular arms. A few weeks ago I built steel front control arms bushings. I don't have any more noise or vibration from having steel to connect the control arms. I spoke with Jay at Jay's Racing,if he has some interest he might be able to built the other 2 rear control arms. You can see my control arms in my gallery.
