Jack stand pictures request please.

You guys have pictures of where i can put my 4 jackstands to totally lift my car ? I need to do some caliper and hub painting and would like to take all wheels off at one time. Thanks

put the jack stands on the front and rear pinch welds on each side. if you dont know what those are, they are about 4 inches in on the underside of yourcar, they are where the body of the car and the metal unibody meet. ya cant miss them

K i am goign to double check this soon. I just dont want to cause any damage to the car. I never had the car fully jacked up yet.

K i know where them spots are. I wasnt sure if putting 4 stands on them ends would hold then weight of the entire car. I know it was ok to jack up one wheel but wasnt sure for all. Thanks.

sweet , next week i am going to be a caliper paint nut ! BTW you guys put a protective clear coat over the cailper paint ? I dont want it to be flat black but i also dont want a clear coat to bubble and flake.

Those are jack points. I havent been able to put my jackstands on those pinch points ever because ill end up cracking my side moulding/skirt.

I put my jackstands right where a lift would put them; right on crossmember where part of suspension bolts onto unibody frame.

i would do that too, but since they are flat, the jackstand can have a chance of slipping, if you put them on the pinch welds that will never happen. the manufacturer almost always reccomends pinch welds to jack a car up by if all else fails

actually those two spots i pointed out is exactly where we put the lift on cars for inspection/service. it is actually cut out for the lift pads to fit there...

ya, if you look at the books that come with the huge hydraulic lifts, they tell you to use the pinch welds if accessible.

What he's saying is that if he using the pinch points to jack the car up then he can't use the jackstands in the same location. If he uses another location to jack the car so he can use the jackstands there then he messes up his side moulding.

I personally try to align the jack stand up with the pinch points with the jack next to them and jack the car up as close to the pinch points as possible.

I always use the frame...every time I try to use that spot it just crushes under the weight of the car

on the front of my car i jack it up by the part of the frame where the middle motor mount is. in the back i jack it up by the piece of metal connecting the two rear wheels, but then again i have a n/t.

you can find other places to jack so that you can use those spots as jackstand spots.

it wasnt a question of how to jack it up , its where the spots are to put the car up on all 4's. I think i have enough info. If all DOESNT go well then i will have a RAM AIR duct in the pass floor

you can always use the control arms...thats what i used on my last brake job..

Sub frame only here...
I also use a small strip of 1X4 or 2X4 (what ever is handy) on the tops of the stands to prevent pinching and scraping of the undercoating...
My car has been up like that for 2 months or more... working on exhaust, pulling/replacing engine, tires, and brake parts pretty much you name it I have worked on it...
