I realize that there are more than one threads on this already but I really don't know what people are talking about because I am not exactly experienced so I apologize if anybody could either explain to me the right place to put the stands in the rear or else pictures would be nice too. Just so you know im getting rotors turned and rebuilding calipers so it could be awhile so any help would be helpful thanks.

most jack stands usually are V shaped from the top... your car has a small "wall" that pops down... you raise the car up and lower it to the point where the "wall" goes in the V shape... its usually a good fit.. im sorry i couldnt find any pictures but i hope this helps...

I personally never use the pinch welds as a lifting or stand point. I have seen them get pretty hagard from doing that. In the rear you have the metal that runs from one lower lateral arm to the other the width of the car, I would jack from there and put the stands where the lateral arms are bolted to. there is a little flat spot. Then push on the car to make sure it is stable.

DONT put the jack stands on the pinch welds....they just bend over and are not a good spot to put them. re-read rstchris post thats where you want them!

There's places for a jack as well as jackstands. Jacking points are in the middle in front on the crossmember. You can put jackstands in different places, but don't put them mid way down the pinchwelds or you will dent/bend them.

every uni-body car made since like 1980 has those sharp 1/2" lips that are on both sides and run the length of the car. this is called the pintch point. it was a universal agreement between all car companys to have this. kinda like in the early 90's the universal agreement for where the OBD port would be. mechanics got sick of lookin all over hell to plug in the scan tool. that why all the diagnostic ports on every car are under driverside dash. these pintch points that all uni body cars have are there for you to lift and put jack stands under. all the lifts at the tire shops in the world come up and hit this and lift the car into the air. granite there lift system is very long about the length of the pintch point. so when workin at home you have to have a lil comon sense about this. your not gonna stick your jack in the middle. duh thats askin for trouble. jack it up kinda in the front or rear leaving enough room to put a jack in there. ever notice how every single emergancy jack that comes in the sprare tire compartment is shaped the same? not conincedence. the shap is to grab the pintch point. that sharp point under there is meant for this. there will be no ill side effects from doin this. only reason not to is if you have SUPER nice show car where undercarridge is painted and you put mirrors under car at shows. use pintch point thats what theyre for.
