the valeo ones are 63.5mm (if they are 2.5") while the e46 is 78.3mm. so trimming will be needed.

Thanks . Now i just gotta find out how to convert mm's in inches . or do you know the inches ?

Not necessarily. The whole projector doesn't have to poke through.

Well now that helps make make an easier decision and lean towards valeo. However the shroud i have I am sure has a bigger opening than it appears to with the angel eye blocking iyt . I guess the best thing to do at this point is to disassemble my headlamps and measure the stock projector .

but what about adjustment, will he have enough? Thats what i was trying to figure out. I know they dont poke out. :p

Damn and I really wanted those e46's cuase it seams they have a sharper cutoff with more blue than the valeo's

wait im confused, the stock ones mesure 2.5 in right?
you can make it work, your just dealing with plastic here.

Sho nuff'. Listen, if you want teh e46's and you know for sure there is going to be some trimming done, just suck it up and do it. I doubt that is going to be done though.

EDIT:
Aim and test with the lens off. Once your cutoffs are level then see if the lens mounts properly.

I see, the 78.3mm which was posted was the width and not the diamiter. Well it seems like the only thing you have left to do is get out the mesuring tape and see what will fit. :thumb:

:shhh: ;)

Lol. Well looks like you gotta register. Besides, there are ton of techs, and how-to's on there to satisfy every question you have. Do it.. the rep points too.

ROFL chances are S_Ranger is close to being a proven member, just like me ROFL

Guys thank you very much for your help. I'm gonna try to figure out how to work the rep points for both of you's . If I can even do it or maybe I need a moderator . But I gg to bed got work tomorrow. Then when i get home i'll measure my projectors and pickup then.

Hey, I just bought those exact same headligths. I'm doing a retrofit as well. I can measure the projector that comes with them. Let me know.

Rep points sent to both you guys. Thanks again. Ok I melted the bottom of headlamp to the point it turned white . Pics coming. Also the stock projector is 2.5" but due to the led bolts for angel eye I will need 2 1/4 " projectors or I got to do
away with the angel eyes.

250 degrees is just the right temperature to melt the glue so an easy pry is attainable. Not too hott, and definatley not too warm. Use this temp. to reglue it too. Anyway, so you're saying you got them apart already, and no easy fit? LMK

well you said the e46 projectors where 2.25 in for the lens diamiter and if the hole is 2.25 then you will most likely not have a problem with the e46 lenses, check the rest of the dimentions to see if you will need to cut away the back, but to me it seems like you will be just fine.
Sucks that you melted the housing though.
you could also trim the heads of the screws with a digrinder to open up the hole. I am planing to do this so i can get more adjustment.

OK well new projectors have been ordered since I melted the sh!t out of mine. Buty . I got the same housing becuase I like the way they look better than the others . So I'm beginning to get annopyed with this HID crap cuase it just cost me $130 for mew headlights and I didnt even get started yet. Almost to the point of buying a H1 plug n play kit and call it a day. But I still have an extra headlight . So I'll order the E46's try to make everything right without messing up this headlamp. And if I do mess up the new ones are already ordered and I'll just sell the E46 kit. Or pay someone to do the retrofit for me .

No! how did you melt your projectors? Did you bake them at a high temperature or what? ### the e46 doesn't get hot enough to do that to your headlights so I'm wondering. Anyway, I'll be glad to do the retrofit for you if you get fed up with it. That sucks to hear that man but at least your still determined. Let me know what's up.

Sorry for delay guys. I will be out of the states for the next week or so due to a death in my family. So till then everthing is obviously on hold.
S ranger - I melted them in the oven . Totally forgot about bem. New ones have been ordered and the E46's I havent ordered yet becuse I've been very busy lately.
