I was hooking up my Type-0/Type-1 Timer and i couldn't find a wiring diagram for the RPM and Speed signal wires, i was wondering if i should hook the RPM to the Ignition 12v wire, that isn't a constant, i was thinking it would get the RPM signal from the ignition pulse, but i didn't know if that was the right ignition wire, and i have no idea which wire i should hook the speed sensor up to. Any feedback/help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and i AM using a harness so theres no hard-wiring goin on.

Thanks alot guys

Oh, and did orangedsm ever get his hooked up, i know what he means when he says he cant find the connector, mine was ALL the way in the back under the kick panel and was a royal pain in the a** to get to until i pulled it out.

I have moved on to the electronics in the car now...

anybody find out forsure what those red, green and white wires were for comming off of the harness and what is the grey wire for comming off of the timer itself the thick ass manual is all in japanese the pics help a little but not enough ive got the basic functions hooked up and the timer works but i want to be able to use it fully

the wires that come off dont go to anything. i keep forgeting the pics i was going to throw up but they might not actually help because the wires are covered in tape.

Alright, so let me make sure I understand this correctly before I go and start connecting or grounding wires.. I have the Greddy FATT, with the Greddy wiring harness. I have already connected the wiring harness to the ignition. My timer came with an additional piece to plug in that had a brown, and a purple wire. The brown I was told was for the Emergency Brake Switch, which I connected, and the purple is supposed to be for the speed sensor. I'm having the same problem as a few others where the car won't stay on. The engine stops once I remove the key, and the timer doesn't beep, or countdown, or anything at all. So my question is, until I get time to rip the car apart again, and connect the Speed Sensor wire, I have to ground it?

EDIT: Nevermind my question, I figured out my problem. For those of you having this problem, go into the sub-menu of your TT, and check to make sure you have it set for Acc, and not IG. That was my mistake. :coy: It works perfectly now, except for the alarm. As long as the car is running, the alarm won't go off. There is a solution for this at: http://ca.dsm.org/FAQ/2gtt-faq.html
I haven't tried this yet, but I plan to as soon as I have time. It involves some cutting, and some splicing of wires.

I have gathered that the purple wire connects to the speed sensor. Here is a sit i found that has a diagram of ecu and pin numbers on them with explanation to each pin.

DO your fans come on with the TT running, and does the radio go OFF when you turn the key off? if not your wiring is still wrong.
