Ok, I just got in my Greddy Full Auto turbo timer from ExtremePSI, I also ordered the harness. Problem is I got a 6pin harness, they tell me that the 6-pin is the only one made. I can't find a 6-pin connector ANYWHERE. I have several 8-pin connectors, I tried following one of the hardwire FAQ's but got confused because of the supposed 2-ignition wires, not sure which one is which. If anyone could either help me to locate the connection point or help me with a wiring diagram with which wires are which in a 1992 Eclipse I would be very grateful. I've attached a pic of the harness and a couple of what I "think" is where it's supposed to connect up, any help would be appreciated!

You have to take the bottom of the steering column off and the lower dash piece off. then find the ignition harness look for the big thick red wire and a harness. It should be on the underside of the column on the left. Disconnect the Stock harness and place new harness in between. Also check out www.vfaq.com i think there is a write up on there. Good luck. :thumb:

Ok I took the lower piece off, but my flashlight is dead and it's 1:05AM here, so I'll check further in the morning, from what I could see, I think there was a 6-wire connector that my harness will fit, I'll give ya'll an update in the AM, thanks for the help! :thumb:

With the harness you just have to put in the connector and splice in two wires? Do you have the stock security system? Did this cause any issues?

hey i got the same turbo timer on the 1g were is the speedometer signal wire???????????? i cant find it anywere LOL and i checked vfaq and all that

I have the stock alarm and it hasn't caused me any problems at all. The speed wire ison the ecu harness somewhere check www.vfaq.com again and look under wireing diagrams. It should be labeled as "speed sensor". Let me know if you find it or if you still can't find it.

i have the same harness and was wondering what the extra green wire, white wire and red wire are used for.

White wire isn't used, red and green are just extra wires since you are tapping into them anyways, making tapping into them again easier.

Red is power, but I can't remember what green is off the top of my head.

I just put mine in last night as well, as also had a hard time. The plug is burried pretty far back. Look around for a while, you'll find it.

i got it all hoocked up right but me and my buddie couldnt get the car to keep running after the key has been removed?

I know I have a 2g and the car you are trying to wire is the 1g, but the wiring should still be the same. first off my 2g has two ignition wires if the 1g's have two also then this will work. i had the same problem with mine when i hard wired it. the timer would count down but the car would shut off. if yours is doing the same then wire the accessory wire from the timer to ignition #2 that way you will have both ignition wires spliced into. the accessory wire on the timer just keeps your stereo and stuff on while the car is running. I tried hard wiring constant to constant, ignition to ignition, and acc to acc. but I got the problem as stated above. talked to my installer buddy and said this will work and it did.
thre ignition wire colors under my 2g dash if you cant find them get a tester from autozone for like $3

1 big white 12v+ wire (big sucker)
1 black and white wire (ignition 1)
1 black and blue wire (ignition 2)
1 blue wire with gray dotted line (accessory power)
1 black and red wire (starter)
good luck!

Sorry to bring up a dead thread, but I just installed mine and I'm having the same problem. It just shuts off as soon as I turn the car off. Did you figure out what your problem was?

no i just forgot about it and gave up for a little while. i have been working alot lately so i havent had time to mess with it.

if you happen to fix it let me know what you did.

Ok, yeah I figured it out. I was grounding the black wire, but I just taped the purple wire up cause I didn't want to bother with the e brake thing. But if you don't want the e brake feature, then you have to ground the purple wire also. That was my problem, maybe you did the same thing. Let me know if that works for you.

Got the same harness and all...
so the grey is to the Ebrake, Black DUH, White to the 02... but I still have a green and red wire un accounted for connection wise... I imagine Red is power?

so what? so hook the red to the fuse box? dont know that much on wiring.

alone, it's for an alternate power source for something else, if you wanted to use it to power something else, a gauge or something, don't hook it up to power. Just tape it up if you arent going to use it.

So then I quess the green wire is RPM or speed sensor?
I kinda want to get this ALL hooked up... not just partially.

my buddy had his laser that he brought over the other day and i took his harness out and looked at it and saw what was wrong and why it wasnt working. the harness was had to be cut and rearanged. the blue and and some of the others were removed but i will put pics up and detailed description on this forum.

put it this way dont buy greddy electronics!!!!!

not sure if you guys got it or not but yes that safely wire HAS to be hooked up or grounded for the car to run without the key.

anybody find out forsure what those red, green and white wires were for comming off of the harness and what is the grey wire for comming off of the timer itself the thick ass manual is all in japanese the pics help a little but not enough ive got the basic functions hooked up and the timer works but i want to be able to use it fully

i had my greddy turbo timer not installed for 2-3 years thinking that it was difficult because i didnt have a harness.. just 2 weeks ago i just said fugk it and told myself ill hardwire it myself..

so i did a search and this was the thread that helped me out..

it was easy.. i just followed what spades_gsx had to say and it was all gravy..

thanks homie and just read and follow what he said..

no harness used..
