i just rec'd my fiberglass blitz kit today and im going to attempt to install myself. There are no holes drilled to mount the bumpers.........can you guys who have installed kits before help me out in how to line up all the holes and also how to make the kit fit......any info would be helpful......

thanks

you need to put the kit where you want it then drill your holes may need to make brakets
search

then go crash your car and put anything but that front bumper on

if i use self tapping screws wont that mess up my holes on the bumper frame.......
any explaining would be great...........

also igopoopy..........thanks for the smart ass coment........i didnt ask if you liked the kit.....and i really dont care. :dsm:

me and my friend who works at a body shop used rivots and self tappers. my front and back are both just self tapped on. my sides are rivoted and double sided taped on. with the front bumper, i put 5 self tappers under the hood... you know.. if yo pop the hood there is that little bracket that hols your front on, i self tapped into that, it doesnt matter that it puts holes in, you can still put your stock shit back on and it does not weaken anything seeing how they are just little brackets.

:shhh: If you don't have anything nice to say...

I'm assuming they sell these "Self Tapping" Screws at homedepot? Are they metal screws? Do you need to drill a hole first, or just screw them in?

any hardware sore has self tapping screws, yes they are metal and no you do not have to drill first, they are SELF tapping... the ones i got were prob a 1/4 of an inch long. i was pulling into a friends yard to wash my car and my front bumper caught on a dirt mound - my car is pretty low. he friend yelled and said, your front bumper is touching your front wheel.. so i backed up ... bumper is fine.. i really surprised i didnt crack anything... but more surprising was that my bumper didnt snap off... they are doing an extremely good job at holding them on so dont let anyone tell you different.

I made sheetmetal brackets that were fiberglassed and rivited in place then bolted to the original bumper mounting locations. Ends were re-enforced with glass and sheet metal then bolted to the fenders. I left the holes a little large for adjustment.
