If yall didit know I'm building my car. So Last night i took the time to install my gauges. I hooked up my A/F, Boost and EGT. SO far so good. I splice my gauge lights into the dimmer switch and get ready to see them shine. :D

I put the battery in the car and turn on the lights, they pop up (cool) and shine bright. turn signals, dome lights, cig lighter and even my windows work just fine. I turn the switch on my dimmer to get my gauges to light up. nothin. :(

I un hook and reconnect the dimmer switch and try it again. nothin. I checked every fuse and they all look to be in good shape. Ive never taken the instruemtn cluster out of the car and have no reason to think that they shouldnt work.

I hooked up my gauge to another power source and they are shined brightly so it seems that the instruemnt cluster isnt getting any power.

Could it be my dimmer switch?

well do youre rear tail lights work?
theres a fduse under the hood called TAILS or something like that, its 10A or 15A maybe, it controls the dash lights as well as the tails, check it out.
my money is on that being youre problem.

The dimmer connects the gauge lights to ground. Did you connect ground to your gauge lights instead of +12 expecting the dimmer to provide power?

i'm not sure which of those two wires on the dimmer swith are power and or gorund. but at this point i could care less about my gauges. I just need my dash to light up.

well do youre rear tail lights work?
Ya know i didnt check, i will do that asap

ive done every thing i can think possible. I chcked and cahnged all the bulbs aroudn the car -
took a light pen and checked all the fuses -
i checked the wires going to the dimmer switch and they have power, but when i hook my boost gauge up, it doesnt light up (yes the bulb is good)-
i replaced the dimmer switch.

all lights in the car work, when i turn on my lights the light in the glovebox cuts on but the lights for my instrument cluster dont show at all. neither does the lights on my a/c control and what not.
