it lives! the gst lives!! i started it tonight :) then i noticed the oil leaking from the oil feed :ohdamn: so i tightened that (heh heh, oops) and then i couldn't get it to start again. there is a relay behind where the radio goes that i am assuming is like an ignition/starter relay or something. it buzzes everytime i turn the key. so i swapped it out with a known working relay, no dice. what's the deal with this thing?

but besides that... it runs!!! no lifter tick either... 'magine that. for the 5 seconds i had it running until my "oh shit" moment... it sounded pretty darn decent LOL.

well.... all the dash lights are working like they are supposed to an' all. and i was looking in my lil chilton's book here... and it says the starter relay is all the way to the right... is the big one next to it the MPI relay? and if so... if i put a good one in.... why would it still not start? and i can also hear the fuel pump kicking in. it starts intermittently... i've actually had blisters on my fingers from turning the key to this car. :\

does it tick even when the ignition is not on?? cause i know for a fact that the MPI relay will tick and do weird shit if the battery is low.... charge the battery with a charger and see if the battery is good... that happened to me once, my battery was low and my mpi relay was making weird noises, charged up the battery and was perfect after!... Congrats by the way

the battery is brand new. no ticking... just buzzing when i try to start it. this car has starting issues. i've replaced the starter, battery, ignition switch, ignition cylinder, swapped out the big relay... i guess i'll just have to play with it tomorrow. but i'm happy i got it started at least the once :)

so anyone have any other ideas? i'm gonna start swapping relays i guess today from one of the other 2 cars i've got sitting here that i know start. i think it's kind of funny that this poor gst that has so much done to it, doesn't want to start half the time... and the gs with a bad tranny and the rs with the hood crumpled and windshield smashed will both start as long as the batteries are charged. heh.
