Clean car inside and out... Motor was rebuilt but timing is off... Also noticed when cranking cam gears don't move.... Looked at this car a year ago and its still for sale. Asking price is $1500 obo and I'm sure it will sell for less than $1000... Worth it? or Pass?

What could be the issue why the cam gears are not turning? Simple fix or MAJOR fix?

Every DSM owner should recognize that means the timing belt is history and that some or all of the valves likely crashed into the pistons. Typically requires rebuilding the head and doing all the service work that had been neglected leading up to the failure. Could run costing more $ than what you wind up paying for the car if it hasn't been well taken care of in the past.
