is your brake pedal being pushed back to you while trying to build boost?

this weekend a friend of mine's auto fwd started to have a problem.Every time he tried to build boost to launch the car his brake pedal would start to be pushed back and the car would leave like a slug. not to mention is was taking forever to build boost.so we went back to my house after a quick test drive and there was a huge leak at about 7psi and the brake booster so i checked the hose going from the intake manifold to the booster and found that there is a one way check valve in the hose so i replaced the whole hose i had from another intake manifold and the leak is gone! So if you having sluggish boost especially while tring to launch the car ck the valve this way: if you can blow air through it from the intake side it is bad!
