Last year I had no problem getting the car to stall up on the line. This year its being a real pain in the ass. I don't know why its taking so long now. Its taking 15-20 seconds to get it above 10psi, which is where the whip starts. I like to launch at 20+psi.
According to my logs the engine goes up to 2500rpm no problem, then it sits there at 4psi and climbs VERY slowly. I can watch my trans temp climb like crazy while I'm waiting for the boost to build. I will NOT use nitrous on this car so that is out.
I have a re stalled stock converter that is supposed to be in the range of 3500-4000rpm. I am running a bastard 16g turbo, and DSMap. I have tried a few things like leaning out the fuel in the range it gets stuck at, in order to increase the torque. I have also both increased and decreased the timing to no avail.
I am starting to think that the trans is slipping or going south in some way. It has 240k kms on it, but has a shift kit and end clutch upgrade. It shifts really good while going WOT though.
The other thought I have is that the stall is too loose, but that doesn't make sense because it was fine last year and nothing has changed other than a re tune and a little more power.
What other options do I have to stall the car faster. 2 step? how does it work? I have a DIS-2 unit with that option.
Please help!
