Ok im replacing my cv axle. The axle is not in and the rotor is quite seized on by rust. But i noticed it wobbles a lot. See the attached video. I Guess i will locate a puller for the rotor to remove it.

Did the car sit with wheels on it and no cv axle, or move like that? The torque of the cv axle nut is what holds the bearing together.

I would probably go ahead and replace it just because of age, but they aren't always bad when they have play like that with no axle torqued into them.

The cv axle shaft snapped in half. So i was not able to test it. But i just went ahead and took this off. Now when i spin it, it sounds terrible. I wonder if the axle held it tight. But needed some clarification.
So it is looking like a definite bad wheel baring.

I was under the impression he has this style hub with the 4 bolt backing plate. If that's the case shot for sure.

But there is another style that is a press in. I figured if the thing is that loose with the axle out it would have just fallen off.

The 1gs have a multi piece bearing that is held together by the torque of the cv axle nut. With no cv axle torqued in place you can knock the part of the hub with the lug studs out with a hammer, or cause it to separate by putting weight on the car. It's possible that when the op's axle broke (if the outer splines broke off) that the bearing began to separate because the car had to be driven and the brakes applied for at least a short time with no clamp load on the bearing.

Either way, with the age of these cars anything like a wheel bearing should be replaced at even the hint of trouble.
