Is this the right radiator?

I have been having overheating issues lately. I have replaced the t-stat, flushed the system, and refilled it with 50/50 mix. I was also having issues with the radiator fan not turning on, so I decided to check connections and while at it clean out the radiator.
I removed the fans and noticed the radiator fan bottom connection wasn't plugged in! From my understanding, it is supposed to plug into the radiator. However, I don't see a place to connect it. As a matter of fact this radiator seems to be much different than the one I remember removing from my Talon! Here is a pic of the one in question. Any thoughts?

I have a MT, I'm assuming this may be a no-no? I do have the radiator from my talon which is also a MT. Should I swap them?

Mines an auto car, with a manual radiator..

The Car has to be modded to use the manual in an auto car. Fill it with water, make sure it doesnt leak, and install this on your car.Easy right.

IT will not make a difference. The auto radiatior has the two fittings for the hoses for the trans..So as long as there not leaking/ capped off, your good to go.

i havent had a stocker plastic radiator in a really long time, but if memory serves me right the auto radiator is a tad bit thicker. like a !/4" thicker. does that mean %25 more cooling? id like to think so

Really..Anyone can confirm? I threw mine away.
Yep but from a N/T 1g car.

You think so?

I know the fittings haven't been capped off, but I haven't seen any leaks either. Back to the radiator fan, is there supposed to be a connection on the radiator for the temp so the fan will kick in?

Yes, the sensor for the fan switch is right beside the lower hose connection. There is something there in your pic but I can't make out what it is. You should have a dangling wire somewhere close that plugs into the sensor.

I found the sensor on my old radiator and put it on the current one since the old radiator looks trashed. Thanks for everybody's input!

You can see that someone put a drain plug in the sensor location beside the lower radiator hose. I have seen this in the PAP. NO wonder people sell them to PAP, as they overheat all the time with no fans.

A portion of the NT auto radiator is also used for cooling the transmission fluid, so you have "less" radiator anyway if you use one of these on a manual car. Also, the plastic end tanks further diminish cooling, and enevitably fail, especially the ones with the integrated transmission coolers. If youre going to the u pull it junkyard, if youre lucky, you might find a nice aftermarket radiator with copper end tanks in one of the 1G cars. These are thicker and very nice. Theyre painted black, so look closely, square (metal) vs rounded (OE, plastic)end tanks are a dead give- away here. Ive got a few of them at home and snatch em any time I see them at the yard if theyre in good condition. Metal end tanks are so much better than the plastic crap that cracks and blows out over the course of 20+ years. Good call on replacing the radiator in the pic, maybe its just a trick of the light in the pic, but that thing looks like a trapezoid from being severely bent at some point in its life:barf:
