is this part important or can i leave it off

I'm getting my wrecked 90 laser repaired, i took this piece off, the piece connects to my air filter, is it needed or is it just a sound dampener? Please help, car is going to the body shop tommorow morning and not sure if i should include it or not

tell you what man, bring it with you just in case. I can't tell forsure but the peice looks like it grabs cold air from outside the engine bay.

This could be a good time to fab up an intake.

Usually the piece that connects to the airfilter is the only pure source of fresh air the filter see's. Keep it until you upgrade the intake.

Or cut the stock intake pipe up and slap a k&n on there.

i took mine off my hon-duh, turns out it helps keep water out of the intake. i sucked up about half a puddle and blew the engine.

the engineers put it on there for a reason!
