Pros to removal:

Cleans up engine bay.
Cheaper than purchasing a replacement if current one is faulty.
Keeps IM clean, internally.
Keeps some heat away from engine wiring harness and intake pipe.

Cons to removal:

May light CEL (can be gotten around)
Will fail visual emissions inspection, if you have emissions testing.
Slightly reduce cruising fuel economy.

I'm sure there are some others to add that may be slipping my mind. Do note, there is nothing performance related listed as a pro or a con.

really depends how much you want to spend, i think the official mopar kit is something like $50. I got 2 plates cut to match the egr openings for $10 total from ebay. Pretty simple, there is 2 bolts holding the tube in on the IM and 2 bolts on the engine holding it in. Remove the 4 bolts, remove the assembly, and put plates over them, and cap off the vacuum port on the IM. May need to use gasket sealer to prevent any leaks. I am fairly certain that was all i had to do.

can you by chance send me a picture of what your engine looks like now that it is blocked off and can you give me a link where to get them
