2G is this normal trans badge

so i have been tearing down my engine for repair and build up and i came across the trans badge it looks like part of it has been scratched off is this normal or should i be worried

Somebody did that deliberately. Possibly one of the trans builders as those number may not mean much if the insides were modified. I had a 90 case but I put all 92 guts inside it with a gvr4 input. The 90 designation on my case most certainly wouldn't mean anything anymore.

ok so you think that it may be modified i guess that would make sense everything else seems to be modified in some way

I'm speculating. I just can't think of another reason why somebody would do that.
