is this enough advance?

well its takin me forever to get ride of my creep but its almost gone. i can finally hold 16 psi and thats what im running. my only problem is that now that im at that high of boost on only a rewired stock pump i get about 8 counts of knock. my timing never goes under 16 degrees and it holds steady at about 18 or 19 but when i get the knock it goes to 16. i cant really turn the boost down cause it wont go any lower. im just wondering if that is really a problem. i also did it last nite at about 1130 in MI and it was only like 40 degrees outside. im just wondering if weather has anything to do with it. im not very concerned because i have a TT fuel pump comin and that should give me enough fuel to see high advance at 16 or 17psi.

Any knock count over 5 is considered bad as you are pulling timing. 16* is not high and it is not very low. I would say you are alright for now but realize that you are knocking and it is not good for the engine. I wouldn't expect you to be abe to raise the boost to 17psi with just a fuel pump. Usually with stock fuel, you can go up to 15psi. Add a pump and you can do to 16psi. Get injectors and tuning and the sky is the limit.

yea i figured thats the response i would get. im gonna make aleak tester and see if thats causing any problems. it might b the reason y i cant get my boost completely under control. once the pump comes in this week it will b interesting to c if the knock goes away. if it does then ill just leave it and whatever boost its most comfortable with.
