Is this engine good for my goal.

It is buying a pig in a poke.

Why not check with one of the supporting vendors on the fourm, and get one of there crate engines.

I would bet the KK engine would be ok for a box stock replacement.

What bearings?
What pistons and rings?

Whats wrong with the engine in your car now? As long as your engine is healthy, it should handle 300hp with some ARP head studs and a good tune and all supporting boltons. If the engine in your car is no good, rebuild it. Or buy a crate engine from a vendor. I haven't heard many good things about Kar King.

What is wrong with your current engine?

How much is this motor that you are looking at buying? (From this shady looking place) These guys sell 4g63's on Ebay as well.

If you want to make 300whp, you can easily do it on your stock motor with some mods.

The info you need is on the fourm.
But nothing in one write up.

Figure out your closest dsm forum that's local to you and find one there, most of the times you'll be able to hear it run before it's even pulled.

Well actually im guilty of having a basically like new engine block sitting at my place, unfortunately shipping would be a nightmare, especially since its hell of expensive (I looked, was like $300 from Jacksonville,FL to Chicago). I would look into building your own to save the money, or you could buy something from a reputable vendor on this site.

It depnds on your power goals, and what you have avaiable.

For a goal of 300 hp that you stated, a split main 7 bolt should hold that.

six bolt is fine if you wanna do some swapping. I agree with the rest a 7bolt will be just fine. In my opinion try to find one with the balance shaft delete on it if you can. most people underestimate what a decent 7 bolt will hold for a good street car. If you wanna go all out drag one day maybe find a 6 bolt now... best of luck.

If I were to just build my 7 bolt and I was on a 2500 dollar limit would I be able to make a strong enough 7 bolt to with stand my goal ?

I rebuilt my 7-bolt with stock crank, Eagle rods, Manley pistons, and Clevite bearings. With all the machine work (bore, hone, crank work, etc) it cost around $1500 if i'm not mistaken. That doesn't include head gasket, head work, and all the other parts that bolt up to the engine block, just the bottom end. But for $1,500 I would trust that bottom end to 700hp. Seriously, my engine is laughing at my small 16g.

So for just 300-350hp, even a stock rebuild would be enough. Which wouldn't cost nearly as much as a forged bottom end. So with 2500, you have way more than enough to rebuild the bottom end, replace everything that bolts on, and then have some left over for upgrades. But that's assuming you assemble the engine yourself. It will cost a bit more to have the shop assemble the block, but it might be worth it if you don't feel experienced enough to do so yourself. Just don't pay anyone for truly easy stuff like attaching the water pump, even the most inexperienced people can handle stuff like that.
