Is this engine a 6 or 7 bolt?

I am looking at a 1992 laser with 4g63t in it at a salvage yard it say its from 7/1991. Would that be a six or seven bolt enigne??? thanks for the help

If it is the original motor it's a 6-Bolt. 7-Bolt motors weren't used until mid '92 build date cars.

If the build date is 91 it Would be a 6 bolt.Unless it's been swapped,But Who would do that.

My build date is 92 and Mine is a 6/4 combo..

to be sure that its not a swapped 7 bolt, the easiest way is to check the exhaust manifold studs. the 7bolts got one lager bolt at each side. (left and right lower bolt)

Right, because no one has ever put a 7-bolt (either 1G or 2G) head on a 6-bolt block before.

You want to be sure, check the block itself. But as JayB12 stated, if it is the original engine, it will be a 6-bolt.

just check the oil pan, the 6 bolt is flat across the front case where the 7 bolt has a dip in it.
