Is my Turbo gonna pull hard w/this setup?

I finally got a 1g AWD TSi! It's sexy and it has some decent mods:

1. New turbo (Big 16g - ported and clipped)
2. Tubular stainless exaust manifold (header)
3. XS Boost Controller
4. Konig exaust (sst) 2 1/2 down pipe
5. AEM Cam gears
6. Apexi SAFC
7. Walbro 255 fuel pump
8. K&N Air Filter
9. Brembo Brakes (all 4 wheels)
10. Greddy shifter
11. Chipped ECU with stage 3 Eprom from TMO.

What psi can I safely be running w/stock injectors? I plan on upgrading soon but I just need to know what I can do with out until then. :talon:

I have the same set up as u and I run 17 psi with 550 injectors. I think if u get 660 injectors u'll be able to get away with a lot more boost... I don't wanna take any guesses but I kno u'd be able to run more than 17 psi w/o a problem.

To answer your questions:

1. Since the turbo is clipped, you'll have a slightly slower spool, but the tubular header may help offset that. Getting the cams dialed in will help a bit since it'll breathe better on the high end, so yes, properly tuned you should have a solid performer on your hands.

2. The 255 on the EVO III isn't a necessity, but if you insist on going with it, you'll need an AFPR since it will overrun the stock regulator and make you run rich. The reason I mention this is because I didn't see one in your list. You can bypass the AFPR/255 combo and simply use a 190, which will create very minor FPR overrun, but nothing like the 255.

3. Safe boost when properly tuned to an A/F of about 11.7:1 on pump with your setup and 660's should be around 19-20 psi on pump gas and 4-5 psi higher on race gas.

4. If you do decide to go with 660's, have Jeff at Keydiver (DSM Chips) run injector compensation so you won't skew the timing curves and run into serious knock from pulling too much air with the AFC.

Let me know if that helps,

Andy

Helps? Of course not! ;)

Only thing I could add would be to get a logger so you can monitor your performance. And so we don't yell at you very much :D A logger is crucial.

Thanks everyone. Got a FMIC so I'm good to go so my stock one will not get heat soaked. No AFPR so this is gonna bite, I bought it like this so maybe I can downgrade or just buy an AFPR. Previous owner ran 17 psi and made 240 to the wheels but w/out FMIC and stock injectors. So he tuned it back down to 14 psi. I'll let y'all know more soon.
