Is my transfer case or trans done?

I was driving yesterday and noticed a clicking noise from under the hood when i gave it gas... after driving it a little bit this morning the clicking has turned to a 'grind grind clank clank'

i lifted her up to check it out and there is oil all over the place right behind the transfer case/tranny

i am planning on taking it all apart in the morning what should be the first things i check?

I'd say pull the xfer case first and check/change that oil. That should give you an idea.

If there's tranny oil puking, do all of your trans gears still shift? Have any clutch issues?

I went through all gears, they work just fine and clutch engagement is fine but i hear and feel a clank,clank,clanking when i start accelerating... 2nd and 3rd sound horrible when i tried in low rpm's. when i was pulling it in my driveway i went down it really slowly with the car in neutral and it was like my car was getting 'hung up' and had a rough time rolling smoothly(i thought it was a busted or cracked brake rotor at first)
sure feels like a transfercase.. ill know in a few hours

I was going to post a few pictures right now but they are not working and they are just pics of the bottom of my car all splattered in oil... maybe tomorrow.
