Is my throttle plate opened too far?

So I've been fighting an idle surge issue for over a month since I bought my car.
Boost leaks fixed, throttlebody gasket, new ISC, new TPS, checked idle switch. Just replaced shaft seals, FIAV seal, and biss screw.
TB Coolant bypassed.

Still idle surging. I know I saw a post saying there should be a bit of a hairline opening of the throttleplate at idle. Do I have too much though, could this be causing it?

being held against a light so it might appear to have more clearance than it really does

When I did my son's thottle shaft seals, his TB plate didn't have that much gap around the outside, in fact it was hardly any at all. Just MTC. I'm sure someone will chime in with a better answer but his idles fine but he runs DSMLink V3 also.

Well I decided to go answer my own question, I turned the idle switch down as much as I could to close the gap. With that almost completely closed(I could still see a very VERY miniscule hairline crack) and the BISS turned in all the way, the car still surged albeit in a way I could tell it wasn't getting as much air. That tells me that the leak definitely just can't be from the throttlebody.

First warm weekend it looks like the intake mani is coming off.

Maybe that will be THIS weekend. I wish you good weather from Kansas!!! I know I will be working on my DSM, temps in the high 50's- low 60's. YES!!!

And the HAIRLINE you see is about what I saw on my son's TB when I got it back together. If you put the plate in wrong it won't line up as good and probably wont go down to idle so if you take yours apart, ask questions first. I have done hundreds of carbs and this was just like them but uses no fuel.

There's a procedure to setting the 1G throttle stop/switch. I think you're supposed to use a multimeter and turn it clockwise until you have continuity. Then turn it another 1/4 turn (maybe 1/2 turn? I don't remember) and tighten the lock nut.

RamenPride, Do you happen to remember where you read this, maybe in a FSM? If so I have those but if not, scratch your head and see if you could tell us where to look that up and thanks.

Clinical I sent you a PM.
