Is my slave toast?

Running wires through the firewall ad kept bumping my clutch and I kept having to lift it back up off the floor(engine/tranny was out) put the motor back in and went to connect the slave again and it was full of fluid. This is a new oem slave that I bought last year and has less than 10k km on it. I feel stupid asking this, but I'm looking for a quick answer not any cheeky responses. Thanks

A quick answer is it leaking? if its leaking then yes its bad.

If I took apart a working setup, it too, would have fluid still in it.
If the slave is OEM and only 10k old it's very unlikely that it's bad. If the seal is cut/torn at all then a rebuild kit will get you on your way.

There's nothing wrong with having fluid inside the cylinder, that's where it's supposed to be, but there is a problem if there is fluid in the boot. It probably leaked past the seal.
