It looks a little to close to the hotside for my tastes. But you burning oil is proably do to bad rings or a blown turbo. Check for shaft play, and do a compression test.

You really need to run a restrictor if you are running the turbo off the filter housing. Another thing that people do is to run the -3 line instead of the -4 to bring the pressure down a bit. Also which port on the filter housing are you running the line from. One is filtered and one is not.

If I'm correct, weren't the 14b/16g CHRA's fitted with a restrictor already? I looked in 14b and there is only a small pin hole

Nope. These turbos all had a restrictor in the factory feed line.

There is nothing to hook up to on the head. you tap into the middle thread on the oil jacket the "filtered one" and like others have said you use a reducer.
Every 4G63 head I've ever seen had a 10mm x 1.25 threaded oil supply hole in the passenger's side front corner of the head. Every one....even non-turbos.

So there is a feed from the head? and if so would it be better to run it from there instead of the filter housing?

Yes of coarse there is a feed from the head. That is where your car was fed from when it came from the factory. I would just buy an oem oil line, oem banjo bolts and crush washers.

Would mitsu have them in stock?? and i checked my turbo for shaft play and there is absolutely zero its like brand new.. i have a ss oil line now could i just use that and hook it up to the factory oil feed or would it not fit because its a bigger line? sorry for the wait on the reply i for some reason thought i already said something back LOL

Doubt it.

MR239830 = 1G Oil Supply Line ($26 brand new from JNZ)
MF650102 = 10mm Banjo Bolt For Head ($13 brand new from JNZ)

Of course you could also just add a restrictor to your existing oil line and it will likely be fine.

...except brand new turbos don't smoke. You either have too much pressure at the inlet or some type of drain obstruction....or both. Hopefully you'll catch it in time so the turbo won't need rebuilt.

what could cause those issues to happen? if i got the restrictor would that stop the turbo from burning oil? only as soon as the turbo hits full boost does it blow out a small puff of blue smoke

The description doesn't get any clearer than "too much pressure at the inlet" and "some type of drain obstruction". Think of it what you will. ;)

Sure, if you haven't already caused oil to pass between the turbine seal and the center housing. Once this happens, the oil burns to both the housing and the seal causing porous surfaces on both parts. Once the turbine seal is compromised, hot exhaust gases enter the center housing and the turbo will eventually fail. Only a rebuild will fix the issue if you're at that stage.

Ahhhhhhhhh thank you sir i now understand! :) thanks for the explanation

Can someone please post a picture of where the oil feed line comes from the block? Because I lost my reputation points from this post...

It doesn't come from the block. IT comes from the head on 1g's and the ofh on 2g's. If you scroll up and look at post 9 i posted a picture of the stock 1g oil feed line attached to the head.

Sorry that's why I was confused I rebuilt my 2g block from the ground up and I was under the impression that they were the same thing other than the black top CAS and 7 bolt crankshaft and other internal difference. I did not know that the oil feed line location changed since I have a 2G I was honestly trying to help how do I go about regaining my reputation points, as I feel that no one can take my suggestions seriously anymore.

Hey guys..
I m running with 16G oil line from filter, but I use 2G t25 oem restrictor on filter... total 2 restrictors (turbo inlet and filter housing)..
are ok?

Goood man! thanks for reply.

Yes, the T25 does not have the restrictor ... but has 16G.
So I was in doubt, but I like riding. hahaha
We will be putting in 30psi on 16G today, will be that I'll have any problems with lubrication so?
My oil pressure 100psi and running Valvoline VR1.

hope you have supporting mods and maintenance up to date to do this with :thumb: i checked profile and didn't see any supporting mods just don't want to see you break something.

good guys!! thanks for replys.. very good!!

-Car now is eclipse gsx 6bolt/4bolt rear end.
