Is it worth tunning a near stock 2g?

I have no exhaust and no upgraded turbo or anything, and wont be able to afford it for some time.
I am, however, interested in tunning my car, with a logger and a safc-II. Is it worth my trouble? Can my money be put towards something better?

I bet you can uncork a few horses if you tune it. Factory ships our cars running rich, so adjusting to a better a/f ratio (stoich) should up your hp by some. It will also get you better gas milege.

I was planning to do that but bought an EBC and a full exhaust first. I figured adding an exhaust will lean you out a little anyway.

Tuning will not help your car out that much, spend the money that you would on tuning stuff for your basic mods first like intake, MBC, exhaust stuff like that and you will feel a much better gain than just leaning out the stock fuel system.

BTW. Exhaust wont lean your car out.
