As the title states, is it possible to remove front motor mount from under the car?
The turbo is in the way and it has aluminum elbow welded to it. Don't want to remove it. Basically has to slide back somehow, if possible. Thanks for the info...

I don't want replies like "may be", sort of. Post only, if you done that. Thanks.

No, three points to mount on is not an ideal situation. Plus think about how weight distribution will be affected; in short you will put to much stress on the rear mount.

Yes, you can. Just use a jack with something to spread the weight, like a piece of wood, underneath the oil pan and jack up the engine just enough to take the load off the front motor mount. Then just un-bolt it.

I've done it plenty of times.

No, I meant just to remove the mount and replace it with solid aluminum mount.

That will be perfectly fine.

There are a few guys on the dsmlink forums without any type of a front mount at all and they don't have a problem. Mine is off but I haven't driven the car without it.

ndsti- So, explain to me how 700-900whp hondas can handle only three mounts without a problem.

Yes, it can be done....if it is like a 2g, then just unbolt the 2 14mm bolts from the bottom of the mount, and unbolt the nut/bolt combo going through the center of the mount, voila mount out...

Just make sure to just up the front of the motor to get some weight off the mount and to give a little bit more room....

If you feel like discussing why (1992awdlaser), please PM me.
How about, since you felt it necessary to post that info in the thread, it gets discussed here; m'kay?

Lots of people also run a solid under-drive crank pulley on a stock bottom end and many more run without a timing belt cover, all with "no problems." At the point where it becomes a problem, it's already a bit late for alternatives.
