i have had my fwd 1990 tsi for a while actully since june of last year and i have yet to really push it past 5k before shifting to the next gear, its pretty stalk just 2g pistons , 16g, fmic, 3 inch buscher catless, k and n filter, the motor sound good and last time i checked it made 148, 153, 152, 151 cold, is it safe to let her rip and shift at higher 6k plus rpms , i guess i am babying it becouse i want it to last

If she checks out on all compression, proper boost, and air/fuel ratio is good, well my friend you have a DSM begging you to tear a new one:thumb: just dont push to hard for to long, or you will find your self replacing some things:)

ok thanks fellas, i am running at 12 psi and ita richer then lean, i just feel once i hit 12 psi i need to shift i never ride it out

well you also have to understand that there is a bad, good, great, amazing, and horrible time to shift in that exact order if your trying to race. on my FWD talon when going form a dig its usaully about sixty eight to seven hundred RPMS when i shift but i go from feeling (long time experience) second and third gear pulls debate on about how fast your going before you gun it. shifting at the exact moment of twelve pounds wouldnt be something i would follow when racing imo. but you are learing and thats great:thumb:

ps. i hope i dont see you on the forums asking how to fix something cause i will feel bad
HAVE FUN:sneaky:

well i just got brand new axles brand new act clutch new brand new fly wheel and master and slave and rebuilt tranny, the only thing i noticed is when you shift from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd it does jump ablittle bit but that may be the act or the fact that i have to broken motor mounts but any i still learning, one strange thing that happens is if i try to slowly raose the boost in second gear like instead of wot just slowly going from atmophete to 12 psi around 8 pounds it sound lile my bov opens and i loose all the boost and it bucks back a bit, could this be the bov or fuel cut

nope greddy type rs but i think its leaking becouse no matter how hard or soft you set it when you let off the throttle under boost before the whoosh of air comes out you here an audible flap like the diaphram lifting one then shutting and quickly lifting again then it relases the pressure, its weird it boosts fine and holds boost but if you try to slowly boost its like around 8 pounds it feels like you blow and intercooler coupling off biut you didint

i would think its cause your turbo is not spoolin to the fullest and the bov wants to release... but like alex said, open her up and give her what you have deprived her of for over a year :) she deserves it :)

EDIT: in no way pun was intended:)

it is resirculated and only does it when driving i just went out and bought a compression tester and i will measure it again (last time was in july) and if all goes well i will open her up a bit thanks for all the help!

Hahaha. Start off slow and let her warm up, then when you think shes ready really let her rip. ROFLROFL
