Looking To Rev To 8500 But Can My Dsm Take It ?

Im looking to get a TMO STAGE 3 Chip put into my :dsm: ecu in the upcoming future..also going to put stronger valve springs retainers and all those goodies..might even port the head too...anyways i was wondering

can the stock 4g63 bottom end take 8500rpms??? :confused:

my whole bottom end should be solid...ive got ARP everything down there and the best bearings :thumb:

ok lets clear some things up here..

me revving to 8500 is my own thing here.. you wanna know why i wanna rev that high ? ill tell you..

im gonna rev that high because i wanna make power (big and small) out of every rpm...torque at low end and horsepower at top end..none of that falling shit..

now how do i plan to back those rpms up ? :confused:

i port and polish heads..so im gonna have a full port job on my head...upgraded valves,valve springs,retainers,valve guides,lifters,cam shafts,cam gears,kevlar timing belt..thats it for the head

as for the motor i will get forged rods and pistons,lightweight knife edged crankshaft,remove balance shafts,much much larger turbo than a shitty t3,dnp equal length manifold, hks 40mm external wastegate

i will also take my transmission to a local company near me..i can get it fully built for $600..steel shift fork, carbon fiber syncros,stronger gears, all that stuff...also getting a good clutch and axles..this tranny will last..my friend has a 900hp supercharged camaro and he had his 6 speed manual tranny all fully built for $800 and it has no problems..so im set with my tranny..

for electrical....fuel controller,upgraded fuel system,maybe a standalone unit,boost controller..

to back up all the horses i will get wider rims with drag radials or slicks..also have a fully tuned suspension...


is that good enough for you guys ??

Oh man. I hate to keep going with this, but you have you priorites all wrong. You are basing you entire engine build ooff of what RPM you want to shift at not what times you want to make or what HP you would like to attain. You will not have a ton of lowend and a ton of topend. That is the way all motors work. If you really what a sweet power band then a turbo'd 4 is the wrong way to go about it. Perhaps an LS1 or other V8. If you have even looked at power bands for some decent sized turbo you would see that most dont just fall off. Yes a 16G will fall off but look at a 50 trim dyno graph or a 60-1 and you will see a nice power curve.

Again, if a "shitty t3" isnt going to do what you want then what will? Are you going to run a straight T4 or perhaps a decent sized hybrid? I would say go with a 3065 put I am sure you have already done your homework on what turbo will give you your desired goals.

He may have a hard time with "better gears" becasue the only aftermarket gears are for 5th and nothing else. I hope your tranny guy has done alot of work on a DSM tranny because they are alot hard to make stout than a T56. Do you even know what upgrades you want him to make or is it going to be a stock rebuild?

I can't remember off the top off my head, but I dont think an AFc will work after 8K, but I could be wrong. You WILL need at least DSMlink, because an AFC just wont cut it for what you want.

The reason I am picking apart you post is because I am pointing out that you, in reality, have no idea what you are getting into and what it takes to build something like this. All you did was spout off a bunch of general statements for engines and other parts. You have no real goals except to rev real high and you want the only powerband on the planet that is fat all the way around. You really need to get some goals and try to work toward them then look at see what parts you need for those goals. Anyone can post a wish list of shit, but you have to be able to know if they will all work together and if they will help you attain you goal. Like I said a few times most peopl that feel the need to rev that high have no GOOD reason to do it, and you and you high revving pal have backed up that stereotype very well.
 
well i am going to rev to w/e rpm i want...im done with this...and who said i have an Safc ? i said i was going to go stand alone ? thats AEM ...and thats $2000...also i will get my 8500 rpms and i will get back to you on how i do on the dyno...also i know how to build motors..i have a v-8 s10 with 800 hp..u can see it after my posts..its the black truck doing a burnout

I would be interested in the sepcs or your 800 HP small block. I am mostly an old school Chevy guy, but DSM's are a good time, so thats whay I got one. What heads and cam combo are you runningin the S10 and how many cubes?
