Is it necessary to use DSMlink or similar program

This is just a question I have I know it might be dumb for some but really, Is it necessary that just because I get bigger injectors and fuel pump to have a DSMlink or similar program or could it be done without it? Thank you

There are many alternatives to DSMlink, but is by far the easiest and most idiot proof. Depending on what size injectors you have, you could get away with a simple SAFC.

You should post up what setup you plan on going with. Then I can tell you if its absolutely necessary.

You need to fill out your cars information so we know what were dealing with. To answer your question, if you have larger injectors, then yes you need something to tune it with. You don't NEED dsm link, but its nice. Also, if you are using injectors larger than 650cc they can be a pain to tune with an afc. Otherwise the SAFC would be the easiest device to tune with. Depending on the size of your fuel pump (if its a walbro 255) your gonna need and AFPR so you dont over run the stop fpr.

Well I'm definitely not going over 650-injectors and yes I'm going with a walbro 255 . I'm not going with a big set up just want something simple just to gain some more power than I have right now.

Like they said, you don't need the link, but I would very much recommend it. You won't be sorry, it is just so easy to use, and that way if you do decide you need bigger injectors later down the road you won't have to upgrade again.

The bigger the injectors the harder it is to tune them because you can't compensate deadtime on piggy back system like an afc. You prob shouldn't try anything higher than 750's on an S-AFC.

Now I am only thinking on going with 650's no larger than that since I'm not looking for a racing machine am just looking for a bit more power

Anything above 660cc won't work with an S-AFC. If you get an S-AFC, you'll also need to get a logger. And if you get a 255lph, you'll also need to get an AFPR. And if you plan on doing any tuning, especially WOT, I would recommend getting a wideband o2.

Since you have a 95 car, you may already have a EPROM ECU. It is easy to tune using a free program called tunerpro and burn your own chips with a burner such as the burn1 from moates.net. I think it's the easiest way to tune, and it's the cheapest considering the burner is only $85! This way gives you full control over the timing and fuel maps; dsmlink does not.
