is it my starter? Transmission or balance shaft?

I dont want this be be another weird sound thread but when I was on the highway going to a Dr. appointment I got off the exit and as I came close to the red light (40ft) and I hear this whinning sound, kinda like a belt snapped and a pulley was revving really fast. It did it again going to work but I made sure I checked all my warning gauges, rpms were right near 1000, vacuum was normal, oil pressure normal etc. I havent had a chance to tell where the noise is oringating from because as soon as I stop and pop the hood its gone. Also sounds like something between the engine and transmission is popping out and free revving, here is what I checked

Starter - sucks, sometimes it takes forever to start, is it possible for the starter to engage on its own while the engine is runing?

tranny fluid looks great but I did change it a 1 1/2 months ago.

belts look fine but I cant check my balance shafts and I did have oil leak where the timing belt is so could the oil have made its way in to there and the sound I hear is my balance shafts slipping?

now this is weird I was messing with my automatic control lever tightening it and loosing it and when I tried starting the car I got nothing from the starter.

Is there any tapping noises? Don't say you can't check your balance shaft belt because you can.

Sounds like your starter solenoid screwed up and sent the starter for a ride on the flywheel. I would pull it off and have it tested/replaced. You need a working one anyways.

very possible, btw I do have a battery relocation and the power wire is screwed on to the 4g wire on the distribution block, I take it I could have fried it?

maybe replace your starter and check it but this is a bad problem
