Are these all right? =/

The balance shaft stud is connected to the gear and the bolt on the other side..

Then i put the Little freeze plug in on the front case (1st pics)
and i had a bigger one, and that one only fit in the one hole... (second picture)

????????????????????

instead of a bearing, i used a plug..

is that okay? because i read up on it .. and the blockoff bearing is just suppose to cover the little hole.

was it okay if i have the whole hole covered...

yes its supposed to cover the whole hole, but what kind of plug did you use? best bet is put a new bearing or reuse the old one and turn it so it covers the hole

Well, i didn't use a bearing. I used a Plug from the kit i got..

It says in the tech guide, a BEARING needs to cover the little hole
but the only thing is, i put the plug in there, and i cant get it out now..
(the plug DOES cover the little hole the block off bearing would be covering)

Is this alright to leave the Plug there?

as long as the hole is securely plugged your good...the only reason to plug the hole is so you wont lose oil pressure but if you have the bearings that come with the kit i would use those instead

i don't... just that plug. plus its now stuck in there haha

My build is done, all i need is the head pins so i can align the head gasket and put the head down then put the timing belt on and she's finished..
i dont feel like taking everything apart when its not 100% needed.

But the plug does cover the hole..

so your 100% sure i do not need to take that plug out? its fine there?

That freeze plug looks like its in backwards where the balance shaft gear goes (on the left). I have never seen anyone do it like that.. I am alittle worried as to if oil would pool up in there and over time if it would start leaking??
But If it's sealed tight I would assume nothing would leak..

You definetly installed that plug on the front balance shaft hole backwards. Pull it out, coat it with some jb weld and re-install it. As for the front oil holes. You will need to block off both oil holes, the here are 2 bearings for that shaft. Don't use that freeze plug, it won't seal it off correctly. Just remove the bearing, rotate it 90 degrees, and reinstall it, the same for the inner bearing. Also which balance shaft stubby shaft came with this kit. If it is not an oem one, than it WILL lock the oil pump up. If there is no oil control groove in it, than throw it in the trash and order an oem one.

This is the oem one,

This is the non oem one.

If you have the shaft in the bottom picture, don't use it, as i said it will lock the pump up. Also what brand is that oil pump? And did you use an o-ring behind that plug on the right (rear side) side of the pump, or just that orange rtv? You shouldn't use any rtv on that. Also don't use any rtv on the oil pump gear cover, or while mounting the pump cover to block.

BALANCE SHAFT ELIMINATOR KIT ECLIPSE TALON TURBO 4G63 : eBay Motors (item 260544647703 end time Feb-26-10 20:39:10 PST) This is the Kit i bought when i did my BSE. Your suppose to install the plug just like you see the freeze plugs on the block. Its suppose to dip in not be flat like you have it installed. It may be safe but i would switch it around. I honestly would just jb weld around the plug and it probably wont hurt anything. As for the oil hole, i just rotated the bearing and blocked it off, I didnt use a plug. But im glad to see your doing it how everyone has done it.

I didn't even buy a kit when i did mine, I just used a freeze out plug. You take the balance shaft and the pulley out. Look in the block and their are races or bearing which ever you want to call them and turn them where the hole is not lined up with the hole in the block, Same goes for the oil pump shaft bearings too. On the oil pump shaft i cut the oil pump shaft down smaller to where it just came though the back side and welded the oil hole up in the end of the shaft. You have to leave the oil pump pulley or your oil pump will not work.
