Is it really worth it to go out and spend 1500 or so on a 420a short block from slowboy when you can go to the junk yard and pull one for 100 bucks? What are you gaining? More Power potencial? Isn't your average pulled out 420a block (just the block forget about internals or head, just block) going to be good for a few hundred horses right? Just kind of curious cause this seems a little much to me to spend on a block. keep on rockin:rocks:

SBR block is forged for going turbo application. The stock motor cannot exceed 300 CHP. 275 daily is the limit and 300hp on occasion. This has been proven by Hahn. The motor you get in a junk yard is stock.

If you going turbo buy a forged bottom end, if your just looking for replacement then buy a used motor.

If you are looking for a forged internal motor, I recommend having a local machine shop do the work for you. Price will be roughly comparable and you dont have to pay shipping.

Wow man thanks, that was exactly what i needed to know. Do you know if any ol' machine shop would be able to do that? Would it be at the same place where i could get it bored and have head porting? Thanks
