I have been concidering getting a 90 laser RS. My plan was to swap the 6bolt with my 2g seven bolt, as I have begun building my 2g and I could just use the 7bolt rs for a daily driver. However someone brought it to my attention that they heard there is a differance in the 90 laser compared to the later modles and the swap is more difficult to do due to things not going togeather. I did a search and off of the 1000 most frequently asked questions it said:

"The interior, engine, transmission, driveline and all other major components of the Laser are the same as the Eclipse."

I guess I just want to double check and see if anyone else has heard of any problems before I make the commitment to get the laser.

Thanks!

First of all, is it an RS or an RS Turbo?

The 90 has a few minor differences in the ECU, and features an electronic-controlled cruise control. I can't think of any other difference.

90 had a worse fuel map and cams (actually I think it was just the intake came. I think).

Also 90's had a different oil cooler than all other years.

Yeah 90 have a air to oil cooler up front by the radiator.

wasn't aware of the cam difference.

the throttle pos. sensor is the biggest difference, 1990 used a seperate TPS than any other year. Just drop a 91 turbo fwd ECU (i think) there are also a few wires to swap around
