Intro

Hows everybody doing? My name is Eric, new to dsm and this site so i figured id begin by making an intro thread. Got my first dsm today, moving on from a pignose 240 that i unfortunately banged up pretty badly =[ ah well. I picked up a 1g talon tsi today, 93 with a 6bolt 133k. The guy i bought it from installed a big 16g turbo along with a walbro255 and a dc2 muffler. its gunna need a little bit of work to get it all nice n ready for winter but here it is

yeah the exterior isnt too bad, couple rust holes in the rear wheel wells though -___- interior is meh. no radio either but #### IT! it drives and pulls hard with the 16g. hopefully it lasts me through the winter

What are the issues with the vehicle?

Any engine bay pictures?

You stated it came with a Wally 255. Did it also come with an AFPR installed to maintain that flow from the wally?

No fpr though, not yet anyway. Could be why it smells like straight fuel in my car . As far as issues with the car are concerned, needs a new front strut which came in today, Id like to upgrade to a fmic, it could use a new maf, and a new radiator

Ditch the FMIC for now, you need an AFPR. Without it, you're just going to run pig rich and you'll NEVER get that car running correctly. =/

Remember to do all maintenance before you even start thinking about modding. Read and follow the upgrade paths, and you'll have a great car!

my buddy tried to sell me a megan racing afpr but i read those dont work well for boost applications..i forgot where i found it on this site but the manufacturer even stated not to use it with a turbo. not only that but the gauge it comes with is hella tiny. im saving my money for a fuel labs afpr, oh and another full tank of premi =]

for right now i just needa get it running properly, get through winter in one piece and if shes still running strong after that then get the galant vr4 tranny rebuilt. i just want a nice daily for now, nothing too serious.
