2G Intermittent wipers do not park after wiping

Trying to diagnose my wiper issue. It's on a 98 talon tsi awd and when you flip the front wipers on they have the normal slow medium and high speeds. but the intermittent dial does not work and when you flip the switch off, the wipers stop immediately on the windshield...they do not automatically park at the bottom of the windshield like they should.

Already replaced the switch and relay with s brand new one. could it be the motor even though it works fine?

I had this exact problem and the wiper motor turned out to be the issue. Replaced it and now everything works normally.

Wiper motors typically have a park switch in them. Not every design is like this but on DSM's it is. More than likely going to need a wiper motor.

Yep wiper motor swapped it out all good now. Wonder what the mitsu service manual calls this " failure in wiper circuit switch"

Ya it's a little confusing but the return wiper position switch is in ALL wiper motors (since the switch activation is based on wiper position which only the motor knows).
