Just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem. I suck with electrical, so any guidelines would be appreciated. This is my daily driver 2g talon tsi. When I go to use the washers it will immediately blow the fuse to the wipers. My first thought is there's a short in the switch. Are these cars known for anything weird like this? Or do I perhaps have a bad pump that is overloading the circuit and causing the fuse to blow? Maybe both. Lol! Thanks in advance, it's just a annoying problem. :)

The switch does send power to the washer pump unlike most other cars out there.
So ya the switch can be the problem.

I would disconnect the washer pump & activate the the washers with the switch.
(also check the wiring down at the washer reservoir while there)
If the fuse still overloads you know it's in the switch or wiring to the pump.

At the wiper switch the light green wire @ terminal 5 of the wiper switch is the power output to the pump.

So if you feel like digging into it, that can help you go thru the wiring to find the issue.

It's a real simple circuit, the wiper fuse powers the switch.
The washers when activated sends power down the lt-green wire to the pump that is wired to constant ground. (black wire on washer pump =ground)
