Okay, so here is where I sit. I have been having some issues with this thing and you guys have been MORE than helpful!!! I bought it knowing of at least one but I have fixed that.

My current issue is a completely intermittent "missfire".

I will be driving and the car may go 20 minutes just fine. But other times it may start missing at random times, random rpms, random gear. At least thats what it feels like.

Just cruising, then its like you pull off a plug wire while I'm driving. The odd thing is, I can just turn off the car, wait 3 seconds, and turn it back on and its just fine, until it happens again?!?!

This is really my only issue. At least that I know of.

I have new plugs, new plug wire, new fuel filter, new fuel pump, new fuel pump sock, and this problem is completely intermittent?!

Thanks in advance guys!

Is this a 6 bolt? If so random misfires happen because of the swap. You need dsmlink or you can half ass it with the pot mod.

It sure is a 6bolt. And the "pot" mod would be?

I do plan to get link but I don't have the money at the moment. If I can get rid of it for the time being until I can get link that would be cool.

The pot mod is where you cut the barometric pressure wire and solder in a potentiometer. You than add resistance little by little until the car stops misfireing. This is a half ass bandaid fix and can potentially cause you to run real lean if your not careful. You really need a logger to monitor fuel or a wideband if you want to try this. Honestly, ive been there and tried it and its not worth the $ you save. Check the forums, you can pick up v2 of dsmlink pretty damn cheap now since v3 has been out for a while. Its jhust as good and literally eliminates the misfires with a click of the mouse.

Good deal. I guess I'll look at getting link. I have the car to go back and forth to work but the missfire annoys me.

I have been trying to avoid using my credit card for my cars but I guess I need to, to get link. LOL.

I'd probably get v3 lite if it still takes care of the issue. I have not ever done anything with link, I assume its pretty straight forward?

HOnestly if your on a budget, there is absolutly no need for v3. v2 is great and will be enough for anything you need out of the car. The changes made in v3 are not significant enough that it is a necessity for someone in your situation. Keep in mind that you also need a socketed ecu. So if you go drop 500 on v3, you will also need to have your ecu socket.
Yes its straight forward and easy to use.

I have EPROM already. Still needs to be socketed?

And that makes perfect sense. I'll look at get v2. I mean, I only plan to have like 350 awhp. The car is a DD, or at least its supposed to be.

I know you have a eprom. Socketed refering to the dsmlink chip being "installed" in your ecu. Either you pay someone a hundred bucls to do it, you try it your self, or you find someone selling the link with the ecu already socketed.

Scroll all the way down for pot mod info.

Good deal. Thank you my friend. A lot of my stress just went away. LOL. I hate not knowing what issues are.

I'll see about getting link here shortly.
