Basic setup info, un shimmed oem pivot ball, comp fork (sits almost center favors driver side slightly), OEM master, Oem slave, was bled correctly. Master is adjusted according to jacks video, comp stage 3 was installed by reputable dsm shop. Has about 5k miles on this clutch setup. I have tested for clutch drag and it WILL move the car forward at around 7450rpm (normal????). I have an issue where the car will have slight resistance when going into first gear and the car will slightly move forward when this resistance happens implying clutch drag BUT it only happens sometimes. I cannot pull up on the pedal so there no play there and if i push on pedal i can see the master slave rod immediatly moves confirming theres no pedal play. I am confused on what would cause this issue SOMETIMES so I have re bled it with no help. Would a shim help? Or would i be looking at the clutch/pressure plate/flywheel for issues?

Check your pedal assembly, master adjustment, etc.

The car shouldn't move forward at all, it's dragging and that's going to cut the life down of the clutch and potentially the trans.

Just doubled checked all the bolts including the one by dowel pin, all good. Any tips on the tools needed to shim while trans still in car?
You’ll have to mod a skinny 14mm open wrench to back out the pivot ball. Also need to cut a washer to slip over the threads and a telescoping magnet to guide it behind the pivot ball. Then use a flathead to push it off the magnet. Make sure you put the washer on the magnet at the correct angle. If it drops, you can get lucky or have to drop the trans regardless.

Every time I've had intermittent clutch issues it always ended up being a foreign object inside the pressure plate. Like a dampener spring from the disk that came loose. The object falls under the PP fingers, won't allow the finger to be fully depressed and causes clutch drag. Then the object will fall out, usually after turning the car off, and clutch works fine. Eventually it ends up back under the fingers and the cycle repeats.
I've had times where I could hear the object floating around inside the clutch.

Sounds like you have a lot of foreign objects in the bell housing. All I ever see is clutch material.

After 20+ years of daily driving this thing I've experienced a lot. One ACT 2100 pressure plate fell apart, an ACT street disk and generic disk both lost a spring. I almost never wear one out.
