Interior paint design

I saw these pics from someone selling their car on craigslist. The exterior is riced out, but the interior was nicely done. Except for the wording on the rear seats, and not too fond of the white lining.

The cf dash trim is up to personal taste, those interested in pics of it:

To be honest I've always been a doubter with painting the interior. But after seeing all of these I just dont know anymore. For those of you that have done it, hows the lasting quality? Have any of you had it done for very long? Ive always been concerned about the vynl peices like the doors and dash since they have a little give, or squish to them.

I personally think the black/tan leather combo is the best (like mine! :sneaky:) When I had my 99 GS 10th aniversary with the burgandy exterior (my favorite color for an eclipse) it also had the black/tan leather combo. Makes my heart throb.

What exactly is the color code of the grey interior pieces? When I got my spyder, the bezel around the window buttons on the driver side was cracked pretty bad. The only ones I can find in the classifieds are tan and I was thinking I'd just paint one grey to match if the color is close enough. Damn spyder-specific pieces...

I might paint the entire interior black, then use like an aqua fabric for the headliner. hmm

I started doing this and tried to just redo the headliner. It's all worked well so far thanks to Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric paint! I just have to figure out what to do about the hatch cover and how to do the doors. I'm replacing the seats and seat belts from the newer 2G black interior eclipses.

blackGSX2g, where'd that mirror come from? Looks sick.

Where did you get the seats from?
I took out my whole interior today and i am going to paint it, but the seats are wore out.

I think it's the '98 and '99 Eclipse GSX's. Or I've heard of an OZ Edition Eclipse that has all black interior also? Just check with junkyards or on here in the classifieds. Sometimes they are on eBay also. :thumb:

2g Interiors that have color combinations other than the OEM styles look tacky and don't flow well. Pictures throughout this thread will be an example of that.

I would just do all black, or black and grey. I think it looks more awkward when you use colors with cloth seats.

I hate such closed minded people. Yeah I think my Black and grey interior is super pimp and I really like it, but I'm not going to say that it is the only way to have it and that anything else is unexceptable, thats stupid.

Everyone wants a black interior and a stock 2g bodykit. Yeah it looks great but do something different.

I like the way xXD9S8MXx did his interior.

i pulled the whole thing from carpet to headliner. i went to the fabric store and bought 2sq yards of black felt and spray addhesive for the headliner. bout new pre molded carpet for 130 on ebay and a whole lot of black and red paint, i got a little carried away on the red paint, i was thinking if i did the pass airbag black it would heel alot. the whole interior was 100% gray

You talking to me? I didnt touch the AC controls, the color is still there just cant see it in the pics.... I went for as close to a possible O.E. look as i could so everything was takin apart the dash was out of the car it was all painted flat and then shined up once again to look like a factory finish.

oh i see. my ac dont work so i just said f it and painted the controls. screw it. im selling the car anyways.

Here is what my interior looks like now. I am going to paint it black and gray.
It is more work than i expected.:(

ed you still have panels in there. i had everything out. every single panel/part that is in the car. thats the easy stuff. GUY is right. the turbo is a headach most of the time

definitely an expensive mirror. only reason i asked is i was really hoping he had pulled it out of something else like he did with the dome light. i can live without it for now.

Any one have the factory blue interior?
My new GSX is supposed to have it ( I have yet to see the car..)

Factory blue interior? Never heard of that, must be rare. The car must be a 1g also because most cars that came with blue interiors were from that era.

Yes, some 2g RS's came with that factory blue interior. I believe it's called Slate blue or something like that. My friend VelocitaPaola has it in his turbocharged RS. If you ask me, I don't really like it and I doubt he does either since he has thrown out some of the rear panels.
